Stuff the Bus volunteers collect needed supplies

The “Stuff the Bus” campaign to re-supply students with school supplies kicked off on Thursday, January 3, in the parking lot of Bell’s Food Store. Although the weather was less than desirable, volunteers (l-r) Zay Banks, Naomi Cobb, Kennedy Wideman, Kameron Wideman, and Daravious Cullars braved the conditions to collect the much-needed supplies and residents did not disappoint. The campaign will continue on two Thursdays, January 24 and 31, at the following locations including Bell’s Food Store from 3:15-4:15 p.m., Dollar General from 4:20-5:15 p.m., and Family Dollar from 5:20-6:15 p.m. Also listed as drop-off locations are the Lincoln County Board of Education, the Lincoln County Food Pantry, and Faith Community Church. Items being collected are school supply items for students ages 4-18, along with jackets, gloves, hats, and toiletry items. Monetary contributions are welcome. Items collected will be given to the school counselors and distributed evenly.
