Thomas A. Hammond


THOMAS A. HAMMOND THOMAS A. HAMMOND Mr. Thomas A. Hammond, 70, of Po Folks Lane, Lincolnton, entered into rest on Sunday, September 30, 2018 at his residence.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 5, at New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery. Members of Riverplace Hunting Club will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mr. Hammond, son of the late George A. and Mildred Wells Ham­mond, was born in Tampa, Florida. At age three, he was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes. During his child­hood and life, he overcame many obstacles associated with the illness that he endured from such an early age. In 1981, he moved to Lincoln County. He had been employed by Taylor Hyundai as a parts salesman until retiring in 2015. His favorite past-time was hunting and spending time with his grandson, Caleb.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, George Hammond.

Survivors include his daughters, Natalie Hammond of Savannah, Georgia and Nicole H. Ivey and husband, Matt of Hiram, Georgia; grandson, Caleb Ivey; sister, Faye Kratzer and husband, Barry of Robbinsville, N.C.; nieces, Noelle Hammond, Ashley Rockefeller, Fawn Knight; two great-nephews, and one great-niece.

Beggs Funeral Home, 200 May Ave., Lincolnton, is honored to serve the family of Thomas Hammond.
