Dr. Noble will be guest speaker at foundation meeting

Dr. David Noble of Atlanta will be the guest speaker at the quarterly meeting of the Washington-Wilkes Historical Foundation on Thursday, August 9, at 6 p.m. at the Washington Woman’s Club.

Dr. Noble will present “Things about Col. John Dooly That You Never Knew.”

Dr. Noble has been active in archaeology work and studying the history of the American Revolutionary War. He is co-author with Richard Marsh of the book Patriots in Georgia Revolutionary War Engagements l776- l782 published by the Atlanta chapter Sons of the American Revolution and has been a member of this chapter for over 25 years.

Dr. Noble graduated from St. Joseph, Michigan High School and attended the University of Michigan for three years, graduating from the University of Michigan, School of Dentistry, in l965. He served in the U.S. Army Dental Corps from l965 to l967 as Captain. He also attended Boston University School of Dentistry from l967- l969 and received a Certificate in Periodontics. He practiced this profession in Decatur for 41 years and taught Periodontics part time at Emory University School of Dentistry.
