Cuts for Christ shows some love to local children

At the sixth annual “Cuts for Christ” held at the American Legion Post 597, area children received school supplies and haircuts to begin the new school year. “We thank the churches and community for their support, and we hope this event will inspire the kids to do well during the semester,” Augusta-Sparta District Lay Leader Travis Reed said. “These events are held to show the kids that the people in the community really love and care for them.” The children not only received school supplies and haircuts, but they enjoyed lunch and fellowship with other members of the community throughout the event. Special thanks were given to Dexter Elam, owner and barber at Ashley’s Barber Shop in Augusta.
