Tne Lincoln County Public Library held its kickoff for the summer reading program recently and it was a big hit with the kids. Hot dogs, chips, and Legos generated plenty of smiles for the little ones. The Lincoln County Library’s Summer Reading Program got off to a rousing start last Friday, as children gathered to munch on hot dogs and chips while playing with Legos. A full summer’s worth of activities is planned by Head Librarian Shirley Dawkins and staff.

The movie, A Wrinkle in Time, is the offering for children on Monday, June 11, at one p.m. It is rated PG. Movies on Mondays are for children and young adults. No refreshments are served. Attendees should have their own blankets, pillows, and snacks.

Victoria and Abdul, rated PG- 13, will be playing for adults on Tuesday, June 12, also at 1 p.m. Small children will not be allowed.

Popcorn and drinks are provided. Attendees should take their own chairs, pillows and blankets. Doors will be closed when the movie starts and no late entries will be admitted out of respect of those who are on time.

The Morris Museum of Art informative discussion begins Thursday, June 14, at 11 a.m. Library personnel ask participants to please respect the performers and other attendees on Thursdays and remove loud, uncontrollable children. “We love to have children who can sit and participate,” Dawkins said. "Disruptive children are welcome to play in the play area of the main library.”
