Chief Lively issues report on recent arrests, incidents

In a recent report issued by the Lincolnton Police Department, Dominigue Rashad Gantt, 27, of Charlotte, N.C., was charged with giving a false name, being parties to a crime, and theft by receiving stolen property. He was released on $15,000 bond.

Furthermore, several arrests were recently made by officers with the department as outlined below.

The listed arrests are taken from the limited information in arrest re­ports provided by local law enforce­ment officials, and no arrests are left out. An arrest does not imply guilt; criminal charges are merely accusa­tions and a defendant is presumed innocent unless proven guilty and convicted.

Those arrested were:

Jamichael Donte Lockhart, 19, of Lincolnton, was charged with bat­tery, cruelty to children in the first degree, and cruelty to children in the third degree. No bond was set.

Curtis Lee Anderson, 53, of Tignall, was charged with no head­lights and driving without license on person.

Peter Bearden Turnell, 48, of Lin­colnton, was charged with the adult seatbelt law, driving while license suspended, and failure to register vehicle. He was released on a $740 cash bond.

Javaunte Carter, 20, of Lincoln­ton, was charged with battery. He was released on a $5,000 property bond.

William Cofer, 57, of Washington, was charged with speeding and driv­ing without a valid license. He was released on a $850 property bond.

Jamel Davis, 17, of Lincolnton, was charged with pos­session of marijuana, less than one ounce. He was released on a $1,000 property bond.

Sonya Leverett, 46, of Lincoln­ton, was charged with battery. She was released on a $5,000 property bond.

William Cofer, 57, of Lincolnton, was charged with speeding and driv­ing without a valid license. He was released on a $425 property bond.

Johnathon Ray Baker, 20, of Lincolnton, was charged with dis­orderly conduct. He was released on a cash bond of $150.

Criag Norman Jr., 31, of Lincoln­ton, was charged with failure to stop for a stop sign and possession of marijuana, less than one ounce.

Mustaf Ali Richardson, 32, of Lincolnton, was charged with dis­orderly conduct and possession of marijuana, less than one ounce. He was released on a property bond of $2,480.

Coty Allen Parks, 32, of Lincoln­ton, was charged with disorderly conduct. He was released on a cash bond of $150.

Kathy H. Hiott, 46, of Lincolnton, was charged with disorderly con­duct. She was released on her own recognizance.

Kenneth Smalley, 63, of Lincoln­ton, was charged with driving while license suspended and driving while tag suspended. He was released on a property bond of $2,400.
