Garden Club presented Madge Wideman with a Lifetime Achievement Award at their December brunch meeting. The McCormick Garden Club, past president Nancy Renstrom presented long time member Madge Wideman with the Madge Bunch Wideman Lifetime Achievement Award at its December meeting.

It was established in her honor to recognize her many years of dedication to the club with her time, talent, and resources and in appreciation for her patience, mentorship, leadership, and grace.

From receiving first place for her "Summertime" flower arrangement in the very first "Gold Rush Flower Show" held at The Messenger office in downtown McCormick in July 1980 to her most recent serMcCormick vice offering thoughtful devotions as Devotions Committee Chair, Madge has provided inspiration with her service in many different ways through the years serving as hostess for club meetings, presenting programs for meetings, serving as a flower show judge for numerous flower shows, and serving on various committees such as the Blue Star Marker, the Garden of the Month, or the Sunshine Committees.

When she presented the plaque Nancy Renstrom certainly expressed the sentiment of members in saying that Madge was the "heart and soul" of the club.
