Pine Needle Garden Club with the Azalea District of Garden Clubs was assigned to ‘Plant Georgia State Parks Yellow.’ The Garden Club of Georgia decided this anniversary year to plant our state parks yellow.

Seventy-five years ago, eleven ladies in Athens, Georgia decided to get together and help make their own gardens as beautiful as they possibly could. That group of ladies has, over the years, developed into the National Garden Club.

Since we have a wonderful state park, Elijah Clark State Park, here in Lincolnton, our garden club planted one hundred daffodil bulbs and added a commemorative stone with the date, the theme and the organizations dedicated, still today, to making our gardens as beautiful as possible. We feel honored to be able to work to that same ideal those eleven Athens ladies!
