Alberta Harris Elam receives caregiver of the year award

Alberta Harris Elam received the Volunteer Family Caregiver of the Year award from the CSRA Area Agency on Aging and CSRA Carenet on Tuesday, November 7th. The luncheon was held at Warren Baptist Church, Simmons Hall.

Alberta is employed with Prosper Home Health Care as a personal care assistant. She is the wife of Ellis Elam and mother of one son, Anthony Dion Johnson. She is the daughter of Emie R. Harris and Ar­thur

C. Harris and the granddaugh­ter of the late Ethel Jean Murray, and Boykin and Edith Harris Sr.

She is a member of Lower Tab­ernacle Baptist Church. Alberta enjoys her job as a caregiver and is a caregiver to her son and mother, and was a caregiver to her old­est brother, Bobby Ricks until his death.

Her patients say she treats them as if they are one of her own family members.
