LCMS students raise funds for Irma victims



The LCMS cheerleaders and Junior Beta club joined together to spearhead a project to collect money for the victims of the Hurricane Irma in Florida. The entire student body, faculty, and staff participated in the event. The students, faculty, and staff were able to collect and donate over $1700, which will go to a middle school in Key West, Florida that was affected by the storm. The LCMS student body wanted to help the middle school students in Florida that are yet to begin school because of the devastation to their schools. Representatives of the groups stated that they “hope to make a difference and we want to let them know we care about them.” The teachers and faculty likewise praised the students, stating, “We have some outstanding young citizens at LCMS!
