Ruby Kathryn Norman Walton

Mrs. Ruby Kathryn Norman Wal­ton, 94, of Metasville Rd., entered into rest on Friday, September 29, 2017 at Harper’s Personal Care Home, Washington, Georgia.

Graveside services were held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, October 1, at Anthony Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Robert D. Adams officiating.

Mrs. Walton was born on August 6, 1923 to Leonadis C. “Lonnie” & Ella Mae Norman. On January 28, 1939, she married Albert Sims Walton and they made their home in the Lovelace Community on the Metasville Road where they raised their four children; Derwood, Marie, Larry & Lena.

Mrs. Walton retired with 30 plus years of service at the Royal Manu­facturing Plant in Washington. and was a member of Goshen Baptist Church. Following retirement, she was able to focus on her love of flowers. Her ability to make any­thing grow and flourish was evident by her immaculate yard.

In addition to her parents and hus­band, she was preceded in death by her son, Derwood; and siblings, Roy Norman, Charlie Norman, Myrtle Dent, Louise Crook, Lawrence Nor­man and Julius Norman.

Her love of her family was evident by generations she leaves behind. Survivors include daughters, Marie W. Poss, and Lena W. Baston and husband, Irv; son Larry Walton and wife, Diane; daughter-in-law, Linda Walton; sisters, Lessie Mae Young, Alicia Partridge and husband, Mil­ton, Patricia Martin and husband, Gerald; brother, Bobby Norman and wife, Mary Frances; brother- in-law, Jack Walton; grandchildren, Johnny Walton and Reesie, Belinda Walton White, Tal Poss and wife, Melynda, Stacey Smith and Todd, Dan Walton and wife, Adrea, April Butler, Dena Gibson and husband, Jody, and LeAnn O’Neill and hus­band, Garrett; great-grandchildren, Bruce Freeland Jr., and wife Andrea, Ron White, Kathryn Bergeron and husband, Jaron, Adam Poss, Neeley Gibson, Cash Gibson, Carlin Gibson and Russell Gibson, Ethan Walton, Landon Smith, Jacob Smith, and Nate Butler.

Beggs Funeral Home, Lincolnton, was in charge of arrangements.
