Mrs. Peggy Glover, Mrs. Brenda Holder and Mrs. Norma McKinney making plans for a new year of Garden Club meetings. The Pine Needle Garden Club Members have begun preparations for the new year of meetings. The Garden Club of Georgia sponsored a leadership workshop and a bench dedication for the outgoing president, Martha Price, at the State Headquarters in Athens.

The Azalea District of Garden Clubs sponsored an awards workshop in Union Point, Georgia, their annual Executive Board Meeting in Washington, Georgia, and, finally, The Augusta Garden Council held its kick-off meeting at Aldersgate Methodist Church in Augusta, Georgia.

So, as you can see, our PNGC of Lincolnton has been really busy traveling, but we have learned so much from the terrific speakers and presenters at each and every meeting.

Our Pine Needle Garden Club will hold its first meeting on Monday, September 18, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. in the conference room of the Lincoln County Library, Humphrey Street entrance. The National Garden Club’s purpose this year is ‘Plant America!’ We plan to plant a tree in a public place to honor that purpose.

The Garden Club of Georgia’s purpose this year is ‘Celebrate 90 Years of Garden Clubs Organization in 1891 Right Here in Athens, Georgia.’ They are sponsoring a Plant Our State Parks Yellow to commemorate garden clubs in Georgia. Our PNGC of Lincolnton has adopted Elijah Clark State Park and will be planting Daffodil bulbs there with the help of Ranger Harry Hafer and his staff. Plus, we have a really wonderful year of fun programs and informative sharing of ideas.

Mark your calendars and come join us September 18th, 7 p.m., Lincoln County Library.
