Elijah Clark hosts solar kayak event for best lake view

For a different way to view the solar eclipse, Elijah Clark State Park is providing a special “Solar Eclipse by Kayak” event slated for Monday, August 21, from 1-3 p.m.

As McCormick, S.C., is within the path of eclipse totality, venturing out to the park and onto the lake should prove a prime spot for viewing.

For this free event, participants will join the park’s naturalist in a paddle around Clark’s Hill Lake in search of the best spot to enjoy the upcoming, epic solar eclipse.

While the eclipse is sure to be spectacular from any location within a decent coverage zone, viewing the wonder surrounded by the sites and sounds of nature should also prove a very unique experience.

There is a $5 parking fee as required by all Georgia State Parks. For more information on Elijah Clark State Park events contact the park’s office at 706-359-3458 or visit www.gastateparks.org/ElijahClark.
