Masons to meet

The Lincolnton Masonic Lodge 354 holds its regular meeting os the third Thursday of every month. Dinner is served at 6:30 with the meeting starting at 7:30.

AA meeting

There is an Alcoholics Anony­mous/ Al Anon meeting being held each Tuesday Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at Dunn’s Chapel Methodist Church located at 6563 Ridge Road in Ap­pling, Georgia.

Sunday services

Blessed Hope Bible Baptist meets at the Presbyterian Church on Sundays at 11 a.m. and Wednes­days at 7 p.m. for prayer meeting. Come join us. For more informa­tion call 706-359-6759.

Eastern Star to meet

Order of the Eastern Star meets the second Monday of every month. A covered dish meal begins at 7 p.m., the meeting begins at 8 p.m.

Sons to meet

The Sons of American Legion Squadron 194 will meet at 7 p.m. on the third Tuesday of the month at the post home. All members are encouraged to attend.

Saturday dance

Augusta Christian Singles host a dance every Saturday at the Ball­room Dance Center, 525 Grand Slam Dr., Evans, Ga. Admission is $10 guests, $8 members. Dance lessons for salsa, line dance, etc., is held from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.; dance is 7:30 - 10:30. Everyone ages 18 and up are invited. Dress is casual. Call 706- 294-7195 for more information.

Silver Lining anniv.

As we approach the sixth annivesary of the Silver Lining Foundation of Newberry Missionary Baptist Church we would like to thank you for your past support. As we continue to help those going thru cancer treatment, we hope that we can depend on your generosity this year.

The Silver Lining Foundation is a foundation that provides financial assistance to help cover travel and meals for patients that are being treated for cancer, is in need of financial support. Friday night bingo

Play Bingo at American Legion Post 194 on Fridays at 7:30 p.m. Enjoy a variety of goodies at the Snack Bar operated by the Ladies Auxiliary during Bingo. Special Bingo games are also played. Come out and see if you are lucky enough to win the Jackpot.

Senior portraits July 27, 28

Senior Portraits for the 2018 LCHS yearbook will be taken July 27 and July 28 in the high school auditorium. Rising seniors will receive information from Prestige Portraits in the mail. You must be photographed by Prestige Portraits to appear in the senior section of the yearbook. If your mailing address has changed, contact the high school office for information.

Sunday school union meets

The Lincoln County Sunday School Union will be held at White Rock Baptist Church July 29-30. The Standing Committee needs to be present at 4 p.m. on Saturday and on Sunday, at 10 a.m. will be Sunday school with White Rock teachers. Rev. Dennis Quinn will bring the message. Rev. Seymore Harrison is pastor.

Norman reunion Aug. 4, 5

All descendants and connected families of Rev. War soldier, Wil­liam Norman are invited to attend the biennial reunion Aug. 4 and 5 at the Lincoln Center in Lin­colnton. Events include a casual get-together on Friday night, reg­istration at 6 p.m. and socializing from 7-9 p.m. Guided tour of the ancestral cemeteries on Saturday morning leaves the Lincoln Center at 9 a.m. sharp. A memorial service at Midway UMC at 1:30 p.m. will be held to honor those Norman descendants and spouses who have passed away since the last reunion. Business meeting fol­lows. Reservations required for the BBQ chicken dinner, 7 p.m. on Saturday night at the Lincoln Center. Deadline is July 26th! $15 for adults, children 6-12 $10, free (under 6 yrs.) Band Camp is July 17-20

Lincoln County Band Camp will begin Mon., July 17 in the band room from 8 a.m. - 3 p.m. Please have the following: wear black shorts, white shirts, tennis shoes, hats, sun screen, towels and water bottles. Breakfast and lunch will be served Mon. - Thurs., July 17-20 and July 24-27.

True Friendship Church will cel­ebrate its fifth anniversary beginning with a church anniversary revival in the Elberton location (1507 Falling Creek Way, Elberton) July 31-Aug. 2, at 7:30 p.m. Guest revivalists will be: July 31 - Rev. A church anniversary community cookout will be held at the Elberton location on Sat., Aug. 5, from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. and on Sun., Aug. 6 at 3 p.m. in the Lincolnton location, (3086 Chamberlain Ferry) for the church anniversary.

Assessors meetings

The following dates are the 2017 regular scheduled meetings of the Lin­coln County Board of Tax Assessors. All meetings are scheduled for 6:30 p.m. in the conference of the Lincoln County Board of Tax Assessors office. Any changes in meetings, dates, and times will be posted on bulletin board of the Lincoln County Courthouse, website, and the front door of the Tax Assessors Office. When time allows, we will also notify The Lincoln Jour­nal. Tues., July 18; Tues., Aug. 15; Tues., Sept. 19; Tues., Oct. 17; Tues., Nov. 21; Tues., Dec. 19.

Double Branches host choir

Substance abuse class

Parks Grove FBH Church is hold­ing a substance abuse class every Monday night from 8-9 p.m. It’s open to men and women who are struggling with any type of addic­tion.

Cookout July 15

The Many Faces of Christ will be hosting a free community cookout at 1123 Curry Circle on Sat., July 15. The Many Faces of Christ, the Christian ministry of Superb Loca­tions, LLC and Faith Community Church, both of Lincolnton, will be offering free hot dogs, chips and drinks for everyone and crafts for children. The free cookout will run from noon until 2 p.m. and is open to the entire community. Everyone is welcome to attend the event.

CWRT to meet July 17

The Civil War Round Table of Au­gusta will meet Mon., July 17, 6-8 p.m. at Goodwill’s Snelling Center, 3165 Washington Road, Augusta. Meeting is $12 (includes dinner). The Lincoln County Sunday School Union will be held at White Rock Baptist Church July 29-30. Standing committee members need to be present on the 29th at 4 p.m. and on the 30th at 10 a.m.

Ministry retreat

Living for Life Ministry Retreat will be held at Sherman Commu­nity Center July 22-23. Rev. Lisa Perkins and Rev. Cedrick Quinn will be tag teaming Saturday at 7:45. On Sunday, Evangelist Mamie Sherman Gray will be preaching at 6 p.m. There will be great singing and prizes given away both nights. Everyone is welcome.

Usherette meeting

The Tenth District Usher/Usher­ette meeting will be held at New­berry Missionary Baptist Church Sat., July 22 at 10 a.m. Rev. Willie J. White is pastor.
