Fan distribution provides relief for seniors

Augusta-Sparta District Lay Leader Travis Reed, along with American Legion Post 597 Leader Harvey Elam, gave out fans to community members like Dale Maddox last week. The mission to serve senior citizens in the community who may be without air conditioning, although open to anyone in need, is an annual tradition. “We wanted to give these out to those in need, especially with the hot summer months coming up,” Reed said. “This was to bless the people in our community, and I want to thank all those in the community who contributed to this cause, and who helped to make it happen.” “I thank God for this,” Maddox attested. “This is exactly what I needed, and it’s been an amazing blessing.” Augusta-Sparta District Lay Leader Travis Reed, along with American Legion Post 597 Leader Harvey Elam, gave out fans to community members like Dale Maddox last week.
