Masons to meet

The Lincolnton Masonic Lodge 354 holds its regular meeting os the third Thursday of every month. Dinner is served at 6:30 with the meeting starting at 7:30.

AA meeting

There is an Alcoholics Anony­mous/ Al Anon meeting being held each Tuesday Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at Dunn’s Chapel Methodist Church located at 6563 Ridge Road in Ap­pling, Georgia.

Sunday services

Blessed Hope Bible Baptist meets at the Presbyterian Church on Sundays at 11 a.m. and Wednes­days at 7 p.m. for prayer meeting. Come join us. For more informa­tion call 706-359-6759.

Eastern Star to meet

Order of the Eastern Star meets the second Monday of every month. A covered dish meal begins at 7 p.m., the meeting begins at 8 p.m.

Sons to meet

The Sons of American Legion Squadron 194 will meet at 7 p.m. on the third Tuesday of the month at the post home. All members are encouraged to attend.

Saturday dance

Augusta Christian Singles host a dance every Saturday at the Ball­room Dance Center, 525 Grand Slam Dr., Evans, Ga. Admission is $10 guests, $8 members. Dance lessons for salsa, line dance, etc., is held from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.; dance is 7:30 - 10:30. Everyone ages 18 and up are invited. Dress is casual. Call 706- 294-7195 for more information.

Services at Village Church

If you are seeking God’s pres­ence in your life, we invite you to join us this Sunday as we worship together. Our purpose is to seek God, share life, study the Bible, and serve others. Pavilion, May House

The Lincoln County Historical Society encourages the use of the Lincoln County Historical Park for family and community events. The Lewis Family Pavilion and the May House make great venues for wed­dings, receptions, family reunions or other get- togethers. Fees are very reasonable and you don’t have to be a member to use the facility. Call (706) 359-3237 for details and information.

Easter’s Homecoming

Jeff and Sheri Easter’s 9th An­nual Homecoming will be held Mother’s Day weekend, May 11-13, at the Lewis Family Home­place, 1935 Lewis Family Rd., Lincolnton. Tickets are $20 per day with children 12 and under, free. Group rates available for 20 or more. Call 706-359-1997 for more information.

Silver Lining anniv.

As we approach the sixth annivesary of the Silver Lining Foundation of Newberry Missionary Baptist Church we would like to thank you for your past support. As we continue to help those going thru cancer treatment, we hope that we can depend on your generosity this year.

The Silver Lining Foundation is a foundation that provides financial assistance to help cover travel and meals for patients that are being treated for cancer, is in need of financial support. Friday night bingo

Play Bingo at American Legion Post 194 on Fridays at 7:30 p.m. Enjoy a variety of goodies at the Snack Bar operated by the Ladies Auxiliary during Bingo. Special Bingo games are also played. Come out and see if you are lucky enough to win the Jackpot.

AA/Al Anon meeting

Rainbow tea program

Senior yearbook ads

Parents and students who wish to purchase a senior ad for the 2018 yearbook, may do so starting now through Fri., May 5. All ads must be purchased by May 5.

Post 194 scholarship

American Legion Post 194 is offering a $1,000 scholarship to a 2017 graduating Lincoln County High School senior who will be attending an accredited 2-year, 4-year, or technical college. Ap­plicants must write a 250 word essay on ‘What it Means to be an American.’ For more information please con­tact Ms. Reid, the guidance coun­selor at the high school, or Craig Zimmerman at 706-359-4899.

Mammograms at H.D.

The University Breast Health Center Mobile Mammography Unit will be at the Lincoln County Health Department on May 18, and June 22. These mammograms are the key to lifesaving early detection of breast cancer. Yearly mammograms are covered by Medicare and most insurance companies for women age 40 and up. The BreasTest and More Program has funding available to assist in paying for mammograms for the uninsured when funding is available. Clients must be 40 and up. Please call 706-359-3154 to schedule an appointment. Please have your insurance card available for necessary information.

Spring revival at Ebenezer

Ebenezer Baptist Church will have its spring revival May 8-10 at 7 p.m. nightly. Rev. Fredrick Favors, pas­tor of Springfield Baptist Church, Thomson, will be special guest. Rev. Fred Perriman is pastor.

Membership meeting

The Lincoln County Historical Society will hold its May member­ship meeting at noon on Wed., May 3 in the May House. We’ll have our traditional pot luck supper followed by a brief business meeting. Guests are always welcome! There will be a Board of Director’s meeting Mon., May 1 at 7 p.m. The Wednesday morning work group is at the park every Wednesday and would wel­come more workers. The May His­tory in the Park talk is at 7 p.m. May 4; Ed DeVos will present “WWII Stories, a Family of Warriors” from his latest book.

Assessors meetings

The following dates are the 2017 regular scheduled meetings of the Lin­coln County Board of Tax Assessors. All meetings are scheduled for 6:30 p.m. in the conference of the Lincoln County Courthouse. Any changes in meetings, dates, and times will be posted on bulletin board of the Lincoln County Courthouse, web­site, and the front door of the Tax As­sessors Office. When time allows, we will also notify the Lincoln Journal. Tues., May 16; Tues., June 20; Tues., July 18; Tues., Aug. 15; Tues., Sept. 19; Tues., Oct. 17; Tues., Nov. 21; Tues., Dec. 19.

Sun. school union in session

The Lincoln County Sunday School Union will be in session April 29, 4 p.m. and April 30 at 10 a.m., at First Baptist Church. Rev. Dennis Quinn is pastor.

Spring book sale

A spring book sale will be held at the Lincoln County Library during regular library hours April 17-22. With approximately 7,500 books, they have a great selection to choose from.

Cookbook available

Heavenly Manna Vol. II, a cook­book compiled by the members of Double Branches Baptist Church, is on sale at the Lincoln County Library for $10 each. Cookbooks may also be purchased by calling Emily Strozier at 359-4292.

Church anniversary

Tabernacle Baptist Church, Hwy. 220 W, will celebrate its 148th church anniversary May 7 at 2 p.m. Rev. Frankie Jones and Freedom Ministries of Lincolnton will be special guest. Everyone is invited. Rev. Ray C. Lewis is pastor.
