Masons to meet

The Lincolnton Masonic Lodge 354 holds its regular meeting os the third Thursday of every month. Dinner is served at 6:30 with the meeting starting at 7:30.

AA meeting

There is an Alcoholics Anony­mous/ Al Anon meeting being held each Tuesday Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at Dunn’s Chapel Methodist Church located at 6563 Ridge Road in Ap­pling, Georgia.

Sunday services

Blessed Hope Bible Baptist meets at the Presbyterian Church on Sundays at 11 a.m. and Wednes­days at 7 p.m. for prayer meeting. Come join us. For more informa­tion call 706-359-6759.

Eastern Star to meet

Order of the Eastern Star meets the second Monday of every month. A covered dish meal begins at 7 p.m., the meeting begins at 8 p.m.

Sons to meet

The Sons of American Legion Squadron 194 will meet at 7 p.m. on the third Tuesday of the month at the post home. All members are encouraged to attend.

Saturday dance

Augusta Christian Singles host a dance every Saturday at the Ball­room Dance Center, 525 Grand Slam Dr., Evans, Ga. Admission is $10 guests, $8 members. Dance lessons for salsa, line dance, etc., is held from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.; dance is 7:30 - 10:30. Everyone ages 18 and up are invited. Dress is casual. Call 706- 294-7195 for more information.

Flu shots at Health Dept.

The Lincoln County Health De­partment is administering influenza vaccine Monday-Friday, 8: 00 – 4:00 PM (closed for lunch 12-12:30 pm). The charges are $30.00 for flu vaccine and $50 for the high dose vaccine which is for age 65 and up only. These charges can be billed to Medicaid, Medicare Part B and most private insurance. Pavilion, May House

The Lincoln County Historical Society encourages the use of the Lincoln County Historical Park for family and community events. The Lewis Family Pavilion and the May House make great venues for wed­dings, receptions, family reunions or other get- togethers. Fees are very reasonable and you don’t have to be a member to use the facility. Call (706) 359-3237 for details and information.

Prayer conference

True Friendship Church, 3086 Chamberlain Ferry Rd., will host Prayer and Deliverance Conference March 15-17 at 7:30 p.m. nightly. Guest speakers will be, Wed.-Thurs., Pastor Daniel Latimer of Augusta, Fri., Pastor Jimmy Williams of Ha­hira, Georgia. Everyone is welcome. Rev. Daravious Cullars is pastor.

Silver Lining anniv.

As we approach the sixth annivesary of the Silver Lining Foundation of Newberry Missionary Baptist Church we would like to thank you for your past support. As we continue to help those going thru cancer treatment, we hope that we can depend on your generosity this year.

Friday night bingo

Play Bingo at American Legion Post 194 on Fridays at 7:30 p.m. Enjoy a variety of goodies at the Snack Bar operated by the Ladies Auxiliary during Bingo. Special Bingo games are also played. Come out and see if you are lucky enough to win the Jackpot.

AA/Al Anon meeting

The Lincoln County Women’s Auxiliary’s Fourth Annual Women in Fellowship Conference will be held at St. Luke Baptist Church Sat. March 25. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. and the conference begins at 10. Minister Mary Lowe of Newberry Missionary Baptist Church is guest speaker. Three night revival

Tabernacle Baptist Church will host its annual three night revival April 3-5 at 7 p.m. nightly. Rev. Wil­lie J. White and Newberry Mission­ary Baptist Churchof Lincolnton will be the special guests.

Democrats to meet

The Lincoln County Democratic Party meetings will be held on the following dates: April 3, - 7 p.m.; July 10, - 6 p.m.; and Oct. 2, - 7 p.m. All meeting will be held at the Lincoln County Public Library.

Program at Mulberry

Golf Tourney April 1

Lincoln County Athletic Booster Club Golf Tournament will be held Sat., April 1, with a 10 a.m. shot­gun start (rain or shine) at Rocky Branch Golf Club, Lincolnton. Sign up individually at Rocky Branch, 706-359-4303, cost is $60/person. Tournament party will be held Fri., March 31, 7 p.m., at the clubhouse, food provided. Putt for $5,000 cash sponsored by Rocky Branch. All proceeds go to Lincoln County High and Middle School Athletics.

Country supper April 1

The Christian Service Organiza­tion of Fishing Creek Baptist Church will sponsor a country cooking sup­per Sat., April 1, 6-8 p.m. Eat in or take out, $8 per plate. All proceeds will go toward charitable needs in Wilkes and Lincoln Counties.

Easter drama at Salem

Salem United Methodist Church in Thomson invites everyone to join us in experiencing an Easter Dramatization presented by the Masters Puppets and Drama Team from Gibson First Baptist Church. This year's theme is Rising and Being Reborn Through Jesus. The performance will be on March 26, 2017 during our 11:00 am service. Lunch in our fellowship hall will follow. Mammograms at H.D.

The University Breast Health Center Mobile Mammography Unit will be at the Lincoln County Health Department on April 6, May 18, and June 22. These mammograms are the key to lifesaving early detection of breast cancer. Yearly mammograms are covered by Medicare and most insurance companies for women age 40 and up. The BreasTest and More Program has funding available to assist in paying for mammograms for the uninsured when funding is available. Clients must be 40 and up. Parents and students who wish to purchase a senior ad for the 2018 yearbook, may do so starting now through Fri., May 5. All ads must be purchased by May 5.

The Civil War Round Table of Au­gusta will meet March 20, 6 - 8 p.m. at Goodwill’s Snelling Center, 3165 Washington Road, Augusta. Assessors meetings

The following dates are the 2017 regular scheduled meetings of the Lin­coln County Board of Tax Assessors. All meetings are scheduled for 6:30 p.m. in the conference of the Lincoln County Courthouse. Any changes in meetings, dates, and times will be posted on bulletin board of the Lincoln County Courthouse, website, and the front door of the Tax Assessors Office. When time allows, we will also notify the Lincoln Jour­nal. Substance abuse class

Parks Grove F.B.H. Church is now having substance abuse classes every Monday night from 8-9 p.m. These classes are for both men and women who struggle with addiction. This is a Bible based class. Scholarships offered

High school seniors from Lincoln and Wilkes Counties may apply for a scholarship sponsored by the Lincoln-Wilkes Retired Educators Association (LWREA). Applications are available in the counselor’s of­fice. The student must plan to attend a college or vocational school for the academic year 2017-2018, and write a 250- 500 word essay on the topic ‘A Higher Education Will Afford Me the Opportunity to…’ Deadline for essay and ap­plication to be turned in to the high school counselor is Thurs., March 30. Historical society to meet

The Lincoln County Historical Society will hold its April member­ship meeting at noon on Wed., April 5th in the May House. We’ll have our traditional pot luck supper fol­lowed by a brief business meeting. Guests are always welcome! There will be a Board of Director’s meet­ing Mon., April 3 at 7 p.m. The Wednesday morning work group is at the park every Wednesday and would welcome more workers. The April History in the Park talk is at 7 p.m. April 6; David A. Kidd portrays “Governor Gilmer.”
