Masons to meet

The Lincolnton Masonic Lodge 354 holds its regular meeting os the third Thursday of every month. Dinner is served at 6:30 with the meeting starting at 7:30.

AA meeting

There is an Alcoholics Anonymous/ Al Anon meeting being held each Tuesday Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at Dunn’s Chapel Methodist Church located at 6563 Ridge Road in Appling, Georgia.

Sunday services

Blessed Hope Bible Baptist meets at the Presbyterian Church on Sundays at 11 a.m. and Wednesdays at 7 p.m. for prayer meeting. Come join us. For more information call 706-359-6759.

Eastern Star to meet

Order of the Eastern Star meets the second Monday of every month. A covered dish meal begins at 7 p.m., the meeting begins at 8 p.m.

Sons to meet

The Sons of American Legion Squadron 194 will meet at 7 p.m. on the third Tuesday of the month at the post home. All members are encouraged to attend.

Saturday dance

Augusta Christian Singles host a dance every Saturday at the Ballroom Dance Center, 525 Grand Slam Dr., Evans, Ga. Admission is $10 guests, $8 members. Dance lessons for salsa, line dance, etc., is held from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.; dance is 7:30 - 10:30. Everyone ages 18 and up are invited. Dress is casual. Call 706- 294-7195 for more information.

Flu shots at Health Dept.

The Lincoln County Health Department is administering influenza vaccine Monday-Friday, 8: 00 – 4:00 PM (closed for lunch 12-12:30 pm). The charges are $30.00 for flu vaccine and $50 for the high dose vaccine which is for age 65 and up only. These charges can be billed to Medicaid, Medicare Part B and most private insurance. Pavilion, May House

The Lincoln County Historical Society encourages the use of the Lincoln County Historical Park for family and community events. The Lewis Family Pavilion and the May House make great venues for weddings, receptions, family reunions or other get- togethers. Fees are very reasonable and you don’t have to be a member to use the facility. Call (706) 359-3237 for details and information.

Silver Lining anniv.

As we approach the sixth annivesary of the Silver Lining Foundation of Newberry Missionary Baptist Church we would like to thank you for your past support. As we continue to help those going thru cancer treatment, we hope that we can depend on your generosity this year.

The Silver Lining Foundation is a foundation that provides financial assistance to help cover travel and meals for patients that are being treated for cancer, is in need of financial support. Cookbook available

Heavenly Manna Vol. II, a cookbook compiled by the members of Double Branches Baptist Church, is on sale at the Lincoln County Library for $10 each. Cookbooks may also be purchased by calling Emily Strozier at 359-4292.

Friday night bingo

Play Bingo at American Legion Post 194 on Fridays at 7:30 p.m. Enjoy a variety of goodies at the Snack Bar operated by the Ladies Auxiliary during Bingo. Special Bingo games are also played. Come out and see if you are lucky enough to win the Jackpot.

Midway cookbook

Midway UMC ‘s “Midway to Heaven” cookbook is now available from Tommie Henderson (Henderson Logging); Brenda Danner Mc- Gahee (tag office); in Washington from Betty Sue Bunch (REA) or Linda Anthony (706-678-7616). In addition to recipes group photos from 1930, 1950’s, 1964, 1999 and church history data are included. Makes a wonderful gift. $15.

Join Lincoln County 4-H

Lincoln County 4-H would like to reach out to private school or home school students in grades 5th-12th who are interested in joining Lincoln County 4-H. Please stop by our 4-H office at 288 N. Peachtree St. right behind Georgia Power or call our office at 706-359-3233.

Shingles vaccine avail.

The Lincoln County Health Department has Shingles Vaccine available for both insured and uninsured persons aged 60 and up. Please call 706-359-3154 for pricing and to make an appointment.

AA/Al Anon meeting

There will be an Alcoholic Anonymous/ Al Anon meeting held at 6 p.m. each Tuesday and Thursday at Faith Community Church Fellowship Hall located at the Thomson Hwy. (Hwy. 43) and Leathersville Rd., Lincolnton, Ga. The sign will read, “The Good Shepard Home.”

Toy, gift give-away

Toys and gifts will be given to children ages 6-10 years old. On Thursday, December 22nd at the Lincoln County Library from 9 a.m. until 12 noon. There will be ministry to the children along with the free toys. To complete an application please contact Travis Reid at (706) 816-9448.

Proclamation observance

Proclamation Observance will be held at Ebenezer Baptist Church Sun., Jan. 1 at 3 p.m. Rev. oarlton Howard, pastor of Noah’s Ark Baptist Church, will be guest speaker. Rev. Fred Perriman is pastor.

Towels for Tails

Donations of towels, sheets, or blankets are needed for WW Animal Shelter. Donations can be dropped off at Wilkes Co. Vet Services, Lincoln Co. Vet Services, Lincoln Animal Hospital or the shelter.

Christmas service

St. Paul United Methodist Church will have its morning worship service on Dec. 25 at 10 a.m. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to bring a friend to celebrate Jesus’ birthday.

Dinner Jan. 14

The Lincoln County Historical Society will hold its annual dinner Sat., Jan. 14 in the May House at the Lincoln County Historical Park. Social hour will start at 5 p.m. and dinner will be at 6. This will be the traditional pot luck dinner with the society providing the entrĂ©e. There will be no January monthly meeting, however there will be a board of director’s meeting at 7 p.m. on Mon., Jan. 9. The next monthly meeting will be on February 1.
