Theater welcomes Rosie Shively as the director of the heartwarming play. With a wealth of acting and directing expertise, she is looking forward to her debut with the Lincolnton Community Theater.

Before moving to McCormick, S.C. with her husband Stephen, Shively performed in New York City and across the United States.

Having directed Life With Father, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, and Star Sounds (a professionally trained children’s performing group), Shively also served as an acting instructor for adult and children’s classes.

Shively’s own acting experience includes performances in The Fantasticks, Cinderella, The Desert Song, Mame, The King and I, and others. She has also performed in several dinner theater pieces such as Guys and Dolls, Once Upon a Mattress, Camelot, George M., A Touch of Broadway, and Broadway Review.

She received training at the Guildford School of Acting in Guildford, England and had the opportunity to perform in King Lear and Comedy of Errors there. Shively has also attended classes at the Barter Theater in Virginia and Turtle Bay Music School in New York.

“We are very fortunate to have someone of her caliber direct this production, and we want the public to know that our auditions are open to everyone,” production manager Nancy Blount said.

The Lincolnton Community Theater hopes that the “hidden actors” in the community will come to try out for the parts – on stage and behind the scenes – for this play. The performances will be on Thursday and Friday evenings, December 8 and 9, as well as on Saturday, December 10, with a matinee showing.

The old high school is located at 345 Ward Avenue.

For more information, contact Blount at her office, 706-359-5769, or via her cell phone, 706-318- 0767. Additionally, Shively may also be contacted for more information at 864-391-8940.
