Masons to meet

The Lincolnton Masonic Lodge 354 holds its regular meeting os the third Thursday of every month. Dinner is served at 6:30 with the meeting starting at 7:30.

AA meeting

There is an Alcoholics Anony­mous/ Al Anon meeting being held each Tuesday Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at Dunn’s Chapel Methodist Church located at 6563 Ridge Road in Ap­pling, Georgia.

Sunday services

Blessed Hope Bible Baptist meets at the Presbyterian Church on Sundays at 11 a.m. and Wednes­days at 7 p.m. for prayer meeting. Come join us. For more informa­tion call 706-359-6759.

Eastern Star to meet

Order of the Eastern Star meets the second Monday of every month. A covered dish meal begins at 7 p.m., the meeting begins at 8 p.m.

Sons to meet

The Sons of American Legion Squadron 194 will meet at 7 p.m. on the second Tuesday of the month at the post home. All members are encouraged to attend.

Saturday dance

Augusta Christian Singles host a dance every Saturday at the Ball­room Dance Center, 525 Grand Slam Dr., Evans, Ga. Admission is $10 guests, $8 members. Dance lessons for salsa, line dance, etc., is held from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.; dance is 7:30 - 10:30. Everyone ages 18 and up are invited. Dress is casual. Call 706- 294-7195 for more information.

Red Devil drink donations

Water and Gatorade/Powerade donations are being requested once again for the Red Devil Football Team. Donations of one case of water and one case of Gatorade/ Powerade for each game are needed. Pavilion, May House

The Lincoln County Historical Society encourages the use of the Lincoln County Historical Park for family and community events. The Lewis Family Pavilion and the May House make great venues for wed­dings, receptions, family reunions or other get- togethers. Fees are very reasonable and you don’t have to be a member to use the facility. Call (706) 359-3237 for details and information.

Silver Lining anniv.

As we approach the sixth annivesary of the Silver Lining Foundation of Newberry Missionary Baptist Church we would like to thank you for your past support. As we continue to help those going thru cancer treatment, we hope that we can depend on your generosity this year.

The Silver Lining Foundation is a foundation that provides financial assistance to help cover travel and meals for patients that are being treated for cancer, is in need of financial support. Cookbook available

Heavenly Manna Vol. II, a cook­book compiled by the members of Double Branches Baptist Church, is on sale at the Lincoln County Library for $10 each. Cookbooks may also be purchased by calling Emily Strozier at 359-4292.

Friday night bingo

Play Bingo at American Legion Post 194 on Fridays at 7:30 p.m. Enjoy a variety of goodies at the Snack Bar operated by the Ladies Auxiliary during Bingo. Special Bingo games are also played. Come out and see if you are lucky enough to win the Jackpot.

The Lincoln County Democratic Party will sponsor “Meet and Greet at the Lincolnton Club House from 7 p.m. until 8:30 p.m., on Thursday evening, October 6.

Homecoming at Danburg

Rev. Ficklen Guin invites every­one to Homecoming at Danburg Baptist Church on Sun., Oct. 9. April Shelton will present a pro­gram of special music beginning at 10:15. Rev. James James will bring the Homecoming message at 11 a.m. A covered dish meal will follow the worship service. Revival services will be held Mon. - Wed., Oct. 10-12, at 7 p.m., with Rev. James as guest speaker. There will be special music each night.

LWREA to meet

The Lincoln-Wilkes Retired Educators Association will meet at 11 a.m. on Thurs., Oct. 13 at Mary Willis Library in Washington. All retired educators and friends of educators are invited.

Post hall rental

Revival at St. Paul

In celebration of 118 years of serving the Lord, St. Paul United Methodist Church will have Home­coming Sun., Oct. 23 at 10:45 a.m. Guest pastor will be J.C. Powell. A covered dish meal will follow. Revival will begin Mon., Oct. 24-26 at 7 p.m. nightly with spe­cial music each night.

Men, women’s day

Annual Men and Women’s day will be held at Newberry Mission­ary Baptist Church on Sun., Oct. 16 at 10:15 a.m. Rev. Daravious Cullars, pastor of True Friendship Church, will be guest speaker. Rev. Willie J. White is pastor.

Deacon anniversary

Friend Day at Martins

Martin’s Crossroads C. H. Church invites the public to join them on “Friend Day” as they cel­ebrate friends on Sun., Oct. 2. Kids Fishing Rodeo

Their fall festival will be held Oct. 8 from 4 - 9:30 p.m. with hayrides, bouncy house, pumpkin bowling, putt putt, scavenger hunt and refreshments. They will have a haunted house and hayride on Oct. 29th. There is a $5 parking fee to visit the park required by state law.

Parks Grove FBH Church is hold­ing a substance abuse class every Monday night from 8-9 p.m. It’s open to men and women who are struggling with any type of addic­tion.

LCHS to meet

The Lincoln County Historical Society will hold its next monthly meeting at noon on Wed., Oct. 5 in the May House. We’ll have our tra­ditional pot luck luncheon followed by a business meeting with Pioneer Day preparations on the agenda. The Board of Directors will meet on Mon., Oct. 3 at 7 p.m. The next His­tory in the Park talk will be at 7 p.m. on Thurs., Oct. 6; Terry Manning will portray “Christopher Colum­bus.” Pioneer Day is on November 19th from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Face to Face forum

The Concerned Citizens of Lincoln County will hold a Face to Face Forum Thurs., Sept. 29, 6:30-8 p.m., at the Lincoln County Library. All candidates for our up­coming elections are invited. In this election, more than ever, we must elect the right person both nationally and locally. I encourage the public to attend and let your voice be heard.

Open on game night

Thomas-Lane American Legion Post 597 will be open during the football season on Monday and Thursday nights. It will also be open on Friday nights after Red Devil games that are played at home. There will be no admission charge but patrons must be 21 or older. Proper ID will be required. Special events will be an­nounced as they are scheduled and admission fees will apply. Plan to watch your favorite teams play with friends and support your local veterans group at the same time. Snacks will be available for sale.
