Masons to meet

The Lincolnton Masonic Lodge 354 holds its regular meeting os the third Thursday of every month. Dinner is served at 6:30 with the meeting starting at 7:30.

AA meeting

There is an Alcoholics Anony­mous/ Al Anon meeting being held each Tuesday Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at Dunn’s Chapel Methodist Church located at 6563 Ridge Road in Ap­pling, Georgia.

The Sons of American Legion Squadron 194 will meet at 7 p.m. on the second Tuesday of the month at the post home. All members are encouraged to attend.

Grace Believers service

Grace Believers Church will have service Sun. at 11 a.m. and prayer meeting and Bible study Wed. at 7 p.m. in the building formerly used to house Lincoln Artisans in down­town Lincolnton.

Memorial Day service

Morningside Baptist Church will be having a special Memorial Day service at 10:45 a.m., during its morning worship, on Sunday, May 29. Ernie Guthrie, a Vietnam veteran, will be sharing his thoughts and memories of men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom, especially from the war the he knows of firsthand. All are invited.

Moms in Prayer

Moms in Prayer International will meet Tuesday mornings at 8:15 a.m. in the Lincolnton Baptist Church fellowship hall. The organization gathers women together to pray specifically for children in schools. For more in­formation call 706-359-3303.

As we approach the sixth annivesary of the Silver Lining Foundation of Newberry Missionary Baptist Church we would like to thank you for your past support. Cookbook available

Heavenly Manna Vol. II, a cook­book compiled by the members of Double Branches Baptist Church, is on sale at the Lincoln County Library for $10 each. Cookbooks may also be purchased by calling Emily Strozier at 359-4292.

Friday night bingo

Play Bingo at American Legion Post 194 on Fridays at 7:30 p.m. Enjoy a variety of goodies at the Snack Bar operated by the Ladies Auxiliary during Bingo. Special Bingo games are also played. Come out and see if you are lucky enough to win the Jackpot.

Saturday dance

Augusta Christian Singles host a dance every Saturday at the Ball­room Dance Center, 525 Grand Slam Dr., Evans, Ga. Admission is $10 guests, $8 members. Dance lessons for salsa, line dance, etc., is held from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.; dance is 7:30 - 10:30. Everyone ages 18 and up are invited. Dress is casual. Call 706- 294-7195 for more information.

Scholarship Fund Day

Basketball camp

Red Devil Basketball Camp, for boys and girls ages 6 through 13, will be held June 20-22 from 9 a.m. - 12 noon at the LCHS Gym. Reg­istration will be held up until June 20. HSMC yard sale

The Humane Society of Mc­Cormick County yard sale will be Sat., June 4, from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. We have a storage facility full of furniture, dishwasher, homedecor, collectibles, small appliances and lots of other items. All proceeds will benefit the cats and dogs of Mc­Cormick. Sale is at the old Farmer’s Supply Building, 802 S Mine Street, one block past Food Lion and the County Administrative Building on Route 28. No Bingo Friday

The American Legion Post 194 will not have BINGO or steak night on Fri., May 27, due to Memorial Day weekend. Hope to see every­one back on Fri., June 3 for a great night.

Eastern Star to meet

Order of the Eastern Star meets the second Monday of every month. A covered dish meal begins at 7 p.m., the meeting begins at 8 p.m.

Choir anniversary

The RLB Male Chorus Choir of First Baptist Church will celebrate its anniversary June 4 at 5 p.m. Choirs from various churches are invited to come out and sing. Rev. Dennis Quinn is pastor.

Towels for Tails

Donations of towels, sheets, or blankets are needed for WW Animal Shelter. Donations can be dropped off at Wilkes Co. Vet Ser­vices, Lincoln Co. Vet Services, Lincoln Animal Hospital or the shelter.

Morningside yard sale

Huge yard sale will be held Fri., May 27, and Sat., May 28 from 8 a.m. - 2 p.m. inside the gym at Morningside Baptist Church, Au­gusta Hwy. We have a little bit of everything. Proceeds go to the youth project.

Men, Women’s Day

First Baptist Church will hold its Men and Women Day service June 26 beginning at 11:30 a.m. Rev. Mitchell Glover will bring the word of God. The public is invited.

Water aerobics classes

The Lincoln County Recreation Department will be offering water aerobics classes beginning June 2. Classes will be Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. and Saturdays at 9:30 a.m. for ages 18 and up. Cost is $50 for eight Thursday classes (June 2 – July 28) and $50 for eight Saturday classes (June 4 – July 30). No classes of­fered during the week of July 4th. Deadline to register is May 27. KCO 3-day camps

First Assembly will offer KCO 3-day camps for free June 13-15 and June 20-22. Kids that have completed K5-5th grade can attend. Breakfast and lunch will be provided through the LCBOE Summer Meal Program. Drop off is 9 a.m. and pick-up is 1 p.m. Daily games, sports and bible study will be avail­able for all campers. To register, call the church office at 706-359-7237. Early registration is suggested be­cause the camp will only register 50 kids per week.

Women’s conference

The women of Harmony Baptist Church will be hosting it's 2016 Women's Conference on Sat., June 11th, 10 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. This year's theme: "Bad Girls of the Bible" and what we can learn from them. Three "spirit-filled" Christian women have been scheduled for presentations, Rev. Brenda Nun­nally of Purpose of Life Ministry, Washington, Georgia, Sister Mary Lowe of Newberry Missionary Baptist Church, Lincolnton, and Rev. Beggs named to President’s List at Georgia College

Emily Beggs, of Lincolnton, has completed courses with exemplary marks and made the President’s List for 2016 spring semester at Georgia College in Milledgeville, Georgia. Georgia College, the state’s desig­nated public liberal arts university, combines the educational experi­ence expected at esteemed private liberal arts colleges with the afford­ability of public higher education.

LCSSU to convene

The LCSSU will convene on May 28 at 4 p.m. and May 29 at 10 a.m. at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. The LCSSU will hold its back to school fun day at First Baptist Church on July 23 at 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Your child will have to attend two union sessions in order to be eligible, elementary to high school.
