There is an Alcoholics Anony­mous/ Al Anon meeting being held each Tuesday Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at Dunn’s Chapel Methodist Church located at 6563 Ridge Road in Ap­pling, Georgia.

Saturday dance

Augusta Christian Singles host a dance every Saturday at the Ball­room Dance Center, 525 Grand Slam Dr., Evans, Ga. Admission is $10 guests, $8 members. Cookbook available

Heavenly Manna Vol. II, a cook­book compiled by the members of Double Branches Baptist Church, is on sale at the Lincoln County Library for $10 each. Cookbooks may also be purchased by calling Emily Strozier at 359-4292.

Friday night bingo

Play Bingo at American Legion Post 194 on Fridays at 7:30 p.m. Enjoy a variety of goodies at the Snack Bar operated by the Ladies Auxiliary during Bingo. Special Bingo games are also played. Come out and see if you are lucky enough to win the Jackpot.

Midway cookbook

Celebrate Recovery will be held at First Assembly of God, Lincolnton every Tuesday night. Refreshments will be served at 6:30 with the pro­gram beginning at 7 p.m.

Moms in Prayer

Moms in Prayer International will meet Tuesday mornings at 8:15 a.m. in the Lincolnton Baptist Church fellowship hall. The organization gathers women together to pray specifically for children in schools. For more in­formation call 706-359-3303.

Dinner served

Every Friday at is steak night at American Legion Post 194. Menu includes a generous portion of steak, baked potato, large variety salad bar, roll, delicious homemade dessert and iced tea beginning at 5:30 p.m. Also a variety of beverages are now available. Grace Believers Church will have service Sun. at 11 a.m. and prayer meeting and Bible study Wed. at 7 p.m. in the building formerly used to house Lincoln Artisans in downtown Lincolnton.

Anniversary program

First Baptist Church of Lincolnton will celebrate its deacons, deaconess and trustees anniversary Sept. 27 at 2 p.m. Rev. Ray Lewis and Lower Tabernacle Baptist Church will be in charge of the service. Everyone is invited to attend. Rev. Dennis J. Quinn is pastor.

Chapman 5K run

The Jason Chapman 5K Run/ Walk will be held on October 17 at 8 a.m. People can register at: www.fbcwashington.org or www.racesonline.com/jason-chapman-5­k run-walk. All money raised from this event will benefit the First Baptist Church youth and Pre-K ministries.

Democrats to meet

The Lincoln County Demo­cratic Party meets at 7 p.m. every first Monday in each month at the Lincoln County Public Library. In order to stay informed and active, please plan to attend meetings and join forces with other citizens. You can become a member of the Democratic Party simply by con­tributing ($2.00) monthly. A Lincoln County Historical Soci­ety cookbook will make the perfect gift for the brides in your family. The cookbooks not only have great recipes but also a brief history of the Lincoln County landmarks that have been moved into the park and restored. The money from the cookbooks will be used to maintain our Historical Park. Get your copy at Crawford and Breazeale Drug Store.

Zumba classes

Zumba classes are being offered at the Walker T. Norman Gym lo­cated at the Curry Colvin Recreation Complex. Classes are taught by Stanley Singleton, a certified Zumba instructor. Classes will be held Tues. at 6:45 and Thurs. at 7 p.m. You can pay by the class or purchase a pack­age of six classes

Lumberjack Day

Collegiate Timbersports Competi­tions and Lumberjack Day will be held at The Rock Ranch Sat., Oct. 3, 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. Family Fun Day. “Lumberjack Day” is a highly visual and intense sports competition with collegiate timbersports teams from the University of Georgia, Univer­sity of Florida, and the University of Tennessee. Collegiate teams will compete in events like pole chop, pole climb, two man cross-cut saw, log chop­ping, log rolling, log birling in the pond, knife and axe throwing, and chainsaw carving exhibition with professional carver. Faith Community Church Women will host All the King’s Daughters Conference Sept. 26. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. Guest speaker will be Pastor Wausheka McClary from Elberton, Georgia, who along with her husband, Kam, pastor New Dove Creek Baptist Church. She is employed by Elbert County Board of Education as a parent involvement coordinator. Everyone is invited to attend. Lunch will be served.

Water, Gatorade needed

It’s time for the 2nd Annual Water and Gatorade Donation for our be­loved Red Devil Football Team. We are asking for donations in order to have one case of water and one case of Gatorade for our player to have for each game. Donations may be dropped off at the high school to Coach Kevin Banks. Revival at Morningside

Morningside Baptist Church will have revival Sept. 27-30 at 7 p.m. nightly. Pastor Al Wright will be guest minister. Al was born and raised in Lincoln County. He was ordained into the Gospel Ministry by the Lincolnton Baptist Church on February 27, 1972. The public is invited. A nursery will be provided. Rev. Dan Fernan­dez is pastor.
