Lions Club meeting

The Lincolnton Lions Club meets at 5:30 p.m. the second Thursday of each month at The Lincoln County Library. Call Randall Edmunds at 706-359-1506 or Sharon Bryan at 706-359-1258for more information.

AA meeting

There is an Alcoholics Anonymous/ Al Anon meeting being held each Tuesday Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at Dunn’s Chapel Methodist Church located at 6563 Ridge Road in Appling, Georgia.

Sunday services

Blessed Hope Ministries meets at the Presbyterian Church on Sundays at 11 a.m. and Wednesdays at 7 p.m. for prayer meeting. Come join us. For more information call 706-359-6759.

The Lincolnton Masonic Lodge 354 holds its regular meeting os the third Thursday of every month. Dinner is served at 6:30 with the meeting starting at 7:30.

Cookbook avail.

A Lincoln County Historical Society cookbook will make the perfect gift for the brides in your family. The cookbooks not only have great recipes but also a brief history of the Lincoln County landmarks that have been moved into the park and restored. The money from the cookbooks will be used to maintain our Historical Park. Get your copy at Crawford and Breazeale Drug Store.

Watch night service

Mulberry C.M.E. Church and Newberry Missionary Baptist Church will observe Watch Night Service at Newberry Dec. 31 at 10:30 p.m. Rev. McKenzie Mc- Daniel, pastor of Mulberry C.M.E. Church, will be guest speaker. Rev. Willie J. White is pastor.

Silver Lining Foundation of Newberry Missionary Baptist Church, a foundation that provides financial assistance to help cover travel and meals for patients that are being treated for cancer, is in need of financial support. Dial-A-Prayer line

Faith Tabernacle Outreach Ministtries offers a Dial-A-Prayer line. If you or someone you know is in need of prayer please call 706-359-1638 and we will pray with you and for you. Prayer lines are available Mon. - Fri., 2-4 p.m.

Cookbook available

Heavenly Manna Vol. II, a cookbook compiled by the members of Double Branches Baptist Church, is on sale at the Lincoln County Library for $10 each. Cookbooks may also be purchased by calling Emily Strozier at 359-4292.

Friday night bingo

Play Bingo at American Legion Post 194 on Fridays at 7:30 p.m. Enjoy a variety of goodies at the Snack Bar operated by the Ladies Auxiliary during Bingo. Special Bingo games are also played. Come out and see if you are lucky enough to win the Jackpot.

Midway cookbook

Midway UMC ‘s “Midway to Heaven” cookbook is now available from Tommie Henderson (Henderson Logging); Brenda Danner Mc- Gahee (tag office); in Washington from Betty Sue Bunch (REA) or Linda Anthony (706-678-7616).

In addition to recipes group photos from 1930, 1950’s, 1964, 1999 and church history data are included. Makes a wonderful gift. $15.

Celebrate Recovery

Celebrate Recovery will be held at First Assembly of God, Lincolnton every Tuesday night. Refreshments will be served at 6:30 with the program beginning at 7 p.m.

Moms in Prayer

Moms in Prayer International will meet Tuesday mornings at 8:15 a.m. in the Lincolnton Baptist Church fellowship hall.

The organization gathers women together to pray specifically for children in schools. For more information call 706-359-3303.

Annual dinner Jan. 9

The Lincoln County Historical Society will hold its Annual Dinner on the evening of Friday January 9th with a social hour at 5 pm and dinner at 6 pm. This is a Pot Luck dinner with the Society providing the main course. The Board of Directors will meet at 7 pm on Monday January 5th in the May House. There will be NO January meeting. The next regular meeting will be at noon on Wednesday February 4th.

Brick sale

American Legion Post 194 is continuing its Veterans Memorial Brick sale. Anyone wanting to honor a family member or loved one who is active duty now or has served in the past, this is fitting tribute to them and their service. Contact Nelson Noble at 706-764-6506 for more information.

Saturday dance

Augusta Christian Singles host a dance every Saturday at the Ballroom Dance Center, 525 Grand Slam Dr., Evans, Ga. Admission is $10 guests, $8 members. Dance lessons for salsa, line dance, etc., is held from 6:30 - 7:30 p.m.; dance is 7:30 - 10:30.

Program at Ebenezer

The Annual Emancipation Proclamation Observance will be held at Ebenezer Baptist Church on Thurs., Jan. 1 at 10 a.m. Attorney Evita Paschall will be guest speaker. Rev. Fred Perriman is pastor.

Parks Grove F.B.H. Church will hold Watch Night Services Wed., Dec. 31 at 9:30 p.m. Everyone is invited. Rev. Tonita Cody is pastor.

Dinner served

Every Friday at is steak night at American Legion Post 194. Menu includes a generous portion of steak, baked potato, shrimp cocktail, large variety salad bar, Texas toast, delicious homemade dessert and iced tea beginning at 7 p.m.

Enjoy a delicious home cooked meal every Wednesday night beginning at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday dining menu changes weekly.

Grace Believers service

Grace Believers Church will have service Sun. at 11 a.m. and prayer meeting and Bible study Wed. at 7 p.m. in the building formerly used to house Lincoln Artisans in downtown Lincolnton.

Watch night service

The Annual Trinity Watch Night Service hosted by, Ebenezer, Harmony and St. Luke Baptist Churches will be held at Harmony Baptist Church, Wed., Dec. 31 at 10 p.m. Rev. Alvin Rivers will be preaching the word. We invite and welcome everyone to join us and help lift up the name of Jesus as we celebrate the new year’s blessings.

CCLC to honor veterans

The CCLC will honor each Lincoln County veteran individually, one each week, in The Lincoln Journal beginning in January. Veterans are asked to please send your military service information and photograph to: Linda Burns, 1100 Lathan Lane Tignall, Georgia 30668.
