Chelsea Creech crowned queen during homecoming festivities

Photo by Mercer Harris. Chelsea Paige Creech was crowned LCHS Homecoming Queen when the Red Devils met Hancock Central at Larry Campbell Stadium on Friday, October 17.

She is the daughter of Lisa and Glenn Creech.

Marcailyn Orrelia Crutch, the daughter of Tynaisa and Kelvin Murray, was crowned homecoming princess.

The two young ladies were crowned by Roikiesha Tennant and Emily Banks, last year’s homecoming queen and princess, respectively.

Other members of the 2014 Homecoming Court, presented during the special halftime show, were:

Senior Class Representatives: Lalla Adele Dawkins, daughter of Ginger and Jeremy Dawkins; LeAnna Renee Giovengo, daughter of Renee and William Giovengo; Michaela Lee Goldman, daughter of Tammy and Thomas Goldman; Colbi Ann Murray, daughter of Jackie and Willie Murray; Kanika Symone Norman, daughter of Effie L. Norman; Hannah Ruth Shelton, daughter of Shannon and Jason Shelton; Erin Danielle Thornton, daughter of Tracy and Brian Beggs; and Debriana Sherice Wright, daughter of Debbie and Terry Wright.

Junior Class Representatives: Natasha Amberly Harris, daughter of Exie and Gregory Harris, and Presley Elizabeth Partridge, daughter of Bridget Partridge and Kevin Partridge.

Sophomore Class Representatives: Kiersten Alana Banks, daughter of Jennifer and Kevin Banks, and Mikayla Ercelle Woodard, daughter of Michelle and Andre Woodard.

Freshman Class Representatives: Savannah Haley Cliatt, daughter of Bridgette and Cory Cliatt, and Shelbi Ann Herman, daughter of Angela Collins and Tom Herman.

The flowers for the homecoming court were donated by Gifts of the Spirit Floral Designs, and the crowns for the queen and princess were gifts from Jeanie and Randy Smith.

During the week leading up to the formal festivities on Friday, the students at LCHS participated in “Dress Days” to get into the spirit of homecoming. The “days” were as follows: “Tacky Tourist Tuesday,” “Past vs. Future Day,” “Hero Day,” and “Red Devil Spirit Day.”

The LCHS Cheerleaders were in charge of Dress Days, with other homecoming activities sponsored by the LCHS Student Council.

Following the game, the annual homecoming dance was held in the school cafeteria, with DJ Lisa Willingham. At this time, Jalen Wade was crowned homecoming king, and Miles Woodard, homecoming prince.

The food for the occasion was provided by Kelly Phillips and Shannon Shelton.

Moreover, prior to the game, the student council sponsored the annual senior recognition ceremony.

Those seniors who have dedicated their time and effort to be a part of the fall sports and band programs at LCHS were presented with certificates by the various coaches and directors during the pre-game festivities. The honorees were:

Football: Connell Bennett, son of Emma McCord and Reggie Bennett; Quinton Cleveland, son of Eleanor Cleveland and Ronnie Cleveland; Lincoln LeRoy, son of Cindy and Jason LeRoy; Jaquan Leverett, son of Delois Leverett; Lakeith Lockhart, son of Henry Mayes and Lakeisha Lockhart-Jones and Marvin Jones; Jamar Norman, son of Janet Wynn and John Wayne; Bryce Roberts, son of LaJuana Kennedy and Todd Roberts; Eric Thomas, son of Kathy Latimer; and Jalen Wade, son of Lisa Willingham and Jerry Wade.
