Marion M. Glover Sr.
Funeral services, with full military honors, were held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at Lincolnton United Methodist Church with Rev. James Bocian officiating. Interment was at 2 p.m. Friday, December 6, 2013 in Dekle Cemetery in Lake Butler, Florida.
Lt. Col. Marion M. Glover, Sr. USA Ret. was the son of the late Reuben Rudolph Glover and the late Mary Loraine Rawls Glover of Alachua, Fla. He was retired military after serving his country honorably during World War II, Korean War and Vietnam. Lt. Col. Glover was a member of the Retired Officers Association, Military Police Corps, Lincolnton United Methodist Church and was a life member of the Lincoln County Historical Society.
Lt. Col. Glover was preceded in death by a son, Marion M. Glover, Jr.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Peggy McGee Glover; one daughter, Linda G. McKinney and husband, Jerry of Lincolnton; one son, Phillip Glover and wife, Tere of McCormick, S.C.; six grandchildren, George, Ruben and Marion Glover, Kristie Williamson, Kim Morrison and Lauren McKinney; four great-grandchildren, Tyler Williamson, Zia Williamson, Hayden Morrison and Ava Morrison.
Serving as pallbearers were Jerry McKinney, Brian Williamson, George Glover, Ruben Glover, Marion Glover and Matt McGee. Serving as honorary pallbearers were J.R. McGee and Max Brown.
