Seating limited for Carman concert at First Assembly

Contemporary Christian music legend Carman will be performing at First Assembly of God on Sunday, July 1, at 6 p.m.

A native of New Jersey, Carmelo Licciardello has changed the face of Christian music and made contemporary music evangelism into what it is today.

His style is pop, comedy, Broadway, rap, country, rock, soul, and everything in between. He is the master of the “story song.”

Released in 1980, Carman’s first album was titled God’s Not Finished with Me. Other albums include Some-O-Dat; The Champion; Comin’ on Strong; A Long Time Ago...in a Land Called Bethlehem; Live: Radically Saved! Addicted to Jesus; The Absolute Best; The Standard; R.I.O.T. (Righteous Invasion of Truth); Heart of a Champion; Mission 3:16; House of Praise; Live and Reloaded; and Instrument of Praise.

In addition, Carman has written and starred in two movies: “Carman: The Champion” and “R.I.O.T.: The Movie.”

Moreover, he has written songs for other motion pictures such as “The Prince of Egypt” and the documentary “Jesus Camp” and is the co-founder of the Parable Christian Film Festival.

The artist is also an author. His book, “The Heart of a Champion,” was published in 2000.

Among other honors, Carman has received seven GMA (Gospel Music Association) DOVE Awards, three Grammy nominations, and has been recognized by “Billboard Magazine” and “Charisma Magazine.” He has 15 gold and platinum albums and videos to his credit.

Some of Carman’s most popular songs include “Meant for This Moment;” “Serve the Lord;” “The River;” “Somewhere Within the Heart,” with Cindy Morgan; “Radically Saved;” “A Witch’s Invitation;” “Addicted to Jesus;” “Faith Enough;” “Heart of a Champion;” “Who’s in the House;” “Holding On;” “Mission 3:16;” “Now’s the Time;” “Step of Faith;” “There is a God;” “Sunday School Rock;” “No Monsters;” “I Promise;” and “R.I.O.T.”

Along with his work as a musician and author, Carman has served as the host for various evening programs on the Trinity Broadcasting Network and appeared in television productions such as the “Time 2” and “Reality Check” series.

Furthermore, he established “Carman Ministries” and “Carman World Outreach,” non-profit organizations that have touched the lives of literally millions of people worldwide.

In 2004, the evangelist was presented with the prestigious House of Hope Humanitarian Award.
