Lions Club meeting

AA meeting

There is an Alcoholics Anonymous/ Al Anon meeting being held each Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at the old Leah Fire Dept station across from Pair of Jacks on Washington Rd. in Leah Georgia.

Elections board meeting

The scheduled Board of Elections and Voter Registration meeting will be held Thursday, Feb. 23 at 5 p.m. All meetings are subject to change.

CTSO dance Feb. 2

The Career Technical Student Organizations at LCHS will be holding a joint dance for all CTSO members on February 2nd from 7pm - 9pm in the LCHS cafeteria. Admittance is to be a member of any of the six CTSO which includes FBLA, FCCLA, FFA, HOSA, SkillsUSA and TSA along with one canned good for the Lincoln County Food Pantry.

Cookbook avail.

A Lincoln County Historical Society cookbook will make the perfect gift for the brides in your family. The cookbooks not only have great recipes but also a brief history of the Lincoln County landmarks that have been moved into the park and restored. The money from the cookbooks will be used to maintain our Historical Park. Get your copy at Crawford and Breazeale Drug Store.

Bible study

Bible study will be held at Pleasant Grove C.M.E. Church every first and third Tuesday of each month at 6 p.m.

NA meetings

N.A. meetings are held at the Lincoln County Library from 6 - 7:30 p.m. every Friday. For more information, please call 706-359-5808.

Friday night bingo

Play Bingo at American Legion Post 194 on Fridays at 7:30 p.m. Enjoy a variety of goodies at the Snack Bar operated by the Ladies Auxiliary during Bingo. Special Bingo games are also played. Come out and see if you are lucky enough to win the Jackpot.

Masons to meet

The Lincolnton Masonic Lodge 354 holds its regular meeting os the third Thursday of every month. Dinner is served at 6:30 with the meeting starting at 7:30.

Dinner served

Every Friday at is steak night at American Legion Post 194. Menu includes a generous portion of steak, baked potato, shrimp cocktail, large variety salad bar, Texas toast, deli- cious homemade dessert and iced tea beginning at 7 p.m.

Enjoy a delicious home cooked meal every Wednesday night beginning at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday dining menu changes weekly.

Dial-A-Prayer line

Faith Tabernacle Outreach Ministries offers a Dial-A-Prayer line. If you or someone you know is in need of prayer please call 706-359-1638 and we will pray with you and for you. Prayer lines are available Mon. - Fri., 2-4 p.m.

Bible study Wed., Sun.

Blessed Hope Ministry invites the public to join them Wednesdays at 7 p.m. and Sundays at 6 p.m. for bible study, prayer, fellowship and focus on families. Call 706-359-6759 for more information.

Zumba classes

Zumba classes are offered at Camp Lakeside, 1238 Dogwood Dr., Lincolnton, on Tues. and Thurs. at 7:45 p.m. for interested persons ages 13 and older. Cost is $10 per week for 2 classes or $30 per month for 8 classes. Child care is available on site.

Men’s Bible study

Silver Lining Foundation of Newberry Missionary Baptist Church, a foundation that provides financial assistance to help cover travel and meals for patients that are being treated for cancer, is in need of financial support. Class reunion

Bricks for veterans

Bricks for Veterans are still available to honor a veteran or an active duty service member. Bricks will be placed at the American Legion Post 194 Flagpole Memorial. Bricks measure 4”x8” and cost $25 per brick. Engraving includes name, military service and conflict era.

Midway cookbook

Midway UMC ‘s “Midway to Heaven” cookbook is now available from Tommie Henderson (Henderson Logging); Brenda Danner McGahee (tag office); in Washington from Betty Sue Bunch (REA) or Linda Anthony (706-678-7616).

In addition to recipes group photos from 1930, 1950’s, 1964, 1999 and church history data are included. Makes a wonderful gift. $15.

Looking for photos

The Lincolnton-Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce requests the help of its citizens by fowarding any photos (digital, camera ready, etc) to the chamber for use in promoting our county.

Photos can be of wildlife, recreation, architecture, events, etc. All photos should be pertaining to Lincolnton/Lincoln County only. These photos will be used to help promote Lincoln County via the chamber website, DVD, brochures, slideshows, etc. Photos may be dropped off at the chamber or sent in email form to chamber@lincolncountyga.com. attention Debbie Justice.

Fishing tips

FLW tour professional fisherman, Glenn Chappelear will be at Lincoln County Recreation Dept. Mon., March 19 at 6:30 p.m. He will share fishing tips and give a demonstration. There will be free food, door prizes, and a special grand prize. Everyone is invited to join us for an evening of fun.

Closet hours

The Master’s Closet is open Mon. from 10 to 2; Tues. 9 to 12; Fri. 11 to 2 and Sat. 9 to 12. We take donations also on Tues. and Sat.

Young Miss Pageant

The Lincoln Young Miss Pageant for girls in Grades K-5 will be on February 7 with practice on February 6 after school in the LCHS auditorium. The entry fee is $30 and is due with the entry form by Monday January 30th.

Flu vaccine at HD

The Lincoln County Health Department now has flu vaccine - $25; flu mist - $35; and high dose of flu vaccine - $45, available on Mon., Tues., and Fri., 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. This year the influenza vaccine protects against A/H1N1 (pandemic) influenza, influenza A/H2N2 and influenza B. Bring proof of insurance for Medicaid, Medicare, Peach Care and United Health Care SHBP. Cash or checks will be accepted.

Jail photos wanted

The Lincoln County Library is looking for old photographs of the old jail that was located between Crawford and Breazeale Drugs and the home of Gerald and Holly Lawson and of Goshen School that was located on the corner of Prater Rd. and Drinkard Rd. The next meeting of the Concerned Citizens of Lincoln County will be Feb. 16, at the Lincoln County Library, 6:30 p.m. Guest speaker will be Amanda Doss, Lincoln County Clerk of Court. Please come and join us for this very important and informative meeting. The CCLC would like to invite you to come with your Concerns for our County and be part of the discussion. The CCLC is a nonpartisan organization.

Dinner at St. Paul

St. Paul United Methodist Church will be having Wednesday night supper on February 8, serving begins at 6 p.m.. The meal for the evening will be loaded baked potato soup with assorted crackers, dessert and beverage.
