Lions Club meeting

Donations needed

James Edmond has been paralyzed from the neck down for the last 16 years. He is in need of donations to have spinal cord treatment in Cologne Germany. Dinner served

Every Friday is steak night at American Legion Post 194. Menu includes a generous portion of steak, baked potato, shrimp cocktail, large variety salad bar, Texas toast, delicious homemade dessert and iced tea beginning at 7 p.m.

Enjoy a delicious home cooked meal every Wednesday night beginning at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday dining menu changes weekly.

Bingo at Post 194

Play Bingo at American Legion Post 194 on Fridays at 7:30 p.m. Enjoy a variety of goodies at the Snack Bar operated by the Ladies Auxiliary during Bingo. Special Bingo games are also played. Come out and see if you are lucky enough to win the Jackpot.

Miracle Crusade

A Miracle Crusade will be held at Solomon Pool Ministries, 1026 Murray Jones Circle, Lincolnton, Sept. 10-11 at 7:30 p.m. with guest speaker Apostle Ronald Ssali. Family, friends day

The stewardess’ of Pleasant Grove C.M.E. Church will have their annual Family and Friends Day program Sept. 26 at 2 p.m. Guest speaker will be Rev. Roscoe Perry of First Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, Appling, Ga. Everyone is invited. Rev. Dr. Walter Clayton is pastor.

Pastor to be honored

Ebenezer Baptist Church will honor Pastor Fred Perriman Sept. 19 at 3 p.m. Rev. Robert Terrell and Union Springs Baptist Church will be the guest. The public is invited.

Bricks for veterans

Bricks for Veterans are still available to honor a veteran or an active duty service member. Bricks will be placed at the American Legion Post 194 Flagpole Memorial. CCLC to meet

The next meeting of the Concerned Citizens of Lincoln County (CCLC) will be held Sept. 16, 6:30 p.m. at the Library. Guest speaker will be Bill Doupe, Assistant District Attorney for the Lincoln County Region. He will be speaking on crime and the punishment for the crimes. Everyone is encouraged to bring canned goods or other nonperishable items to the meeting with you for the Lincoln County Food Bank.

Revival at Mt. Zion Mt. Zion Baptist Church will be in revival Sept. 6 - 8 at 7:30 p.m. nightly. Each night will feature a different speaker from local churches. Speakers will be, Mon. - Lower Tabernacle; Tues. - White Rock and Wed. - Rehoboth Baptist Church. The public is invited. Rev. Robert Crawford is pastor.

The Willie Crew Youth Choir will celebrate its 18th anniversary Sat., Sept. 11 at 6 p.m.

Boosters to meet

There will be a Band Boosters meeting on Thursday, September 9, 2010 at 6:00 p.m. in the band room at the new high school. Thanks for your support in the past, and this new school year.

Labor Day festival

The 24th Annual Labor Day Festival will be held in Crawfordville (2 miles off I-20, Exit 148), Sept. 6 from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. There will many fun things to do like a rock climbing wall, arts & crafts, pony rides, children’s games, karaoke, contests, parade, etc. Come out for a great day of fun.

SALS to meet

The Sons of the American Legion Squadron 194 will have their monthly meeting Sept. 14, 7 p.m. at the post home. All members are asked to please attend, this is a new year, plans for veterans need to be made, and dues are due.

Family reunion

The Willingham and Barksdale family reunion will be held on September 4th and 5th. Fish fry will be on Sat., Sept. 4th starting at 6:oo p.m. at 4416 Thomson Hwy at home of Derrick and D’metrice Barksdale. And the dinner will be that Sunday at 3:00 p.m. at the Barksdale’s residence as well.

Ladies Bible study

First Assembly of God will offer a Ladies Bible Study entitled “Faithful, Abundant, True: Three Lives Going Deeper Still” by Beth Moore, Kay Arthur and Priscilla Shirer. This seven week study will be held on Monday evenings at 6:30 pm beginning on September 20. Workbooks are $14.00. Ladies are invited to paticipate with us. Homecoming at Loco

Loco Baptist Church will have Homecoming Sept. 12. Rev. David Mullins will speak at the morning service with Liberty singing after lunch. Come and join us for a day full of fun and fellowship.
