LWREA elects new officers, discusses goals for new year

Dr. Beverly Roberts, past president of the Georgia Retired EducatorsAssociation (GREA) and Georgia Educators Museum, installed the 2010-2012officers of the Lincoln- Wilkes Retired Educators Association (LWREA) onAugust 12 at the Lincoln County Public Library.
After installing the officers, Roberts spoke to the group about GREA’sgoals for the year and encouraged members of LWREA to adopt the stateorganization’s theme, “Building a Gigantic Organization,” reminding thegroup that GREA is the only state organization dedicated to the well beingof retired educators.
“GREA, as well as all local chapters, must recruit and encourage allretired educators to join and participate in the activities of theorganization,” said Roberts. “By doing this, GREA will grow stronger innumbers and in voice.”
Roberts ended the presentation by presenting each member ofLWREA with a glue stick. She explained, “The glue stick should serve as areminder that we should stick to the constitiution and bylaws of GREA andLWREA, stick to performing duties effectively and efficiently, stick torecruiting new members, and stick together.”
