Band concert and awards ceremony to be held May 10

The LCMS/LCHS Band Awards Ceremony and Spring Concert is set for Monday, May 10, beginning at 7 p.m. in the school auditorium.

During the evening, awards will be presented to those students who have excelled in various aspects of the band program this year.

The audience will also have the opportunity to hear the different bands perform. The program includes:

Sixth-Grade Band – “Celebration March” and “Ride the ‘A’ Train,” arranged by Gerald Sebesky, and “The Clock Shop,” arranged by Lee Adams.

Seventh and Eighth-Grade Band – “Simple Gifts,” arranged by Andrew Balent; “Psalm 42,” arranged by Samuel R. Hazo; and “Apollo Fanfare,” arranged by Robert W. Smith.

LCMS Band (grades 6-8 combined) – “Cool Blues,” arranged by Michael Sweeney.

LCHS Concert Band – “Creed,” arranged by William Hines; “Symphony No. 9 from ‘The New World;’” arranged by James Curnow; and “Into the Storm,” arranged by Robert W. Smith.

LCHS Jazz Band – “True Colors” and “My Girl,” arranged by John Berry,” and “Georgia on My Mind,” arranged by Michael Sweeney.

The community is heartily encouraged to attend the awards ceremony and spring concert.
