Purchase yearbooks

The 2010 Lincoln County High School Panorama can still be purchased! You can order online at jostensyearbooks.com, call toll-free 1-866-282-1516, or pick up an order form in the main offices of the schools and mail your order in. Yearbooks are $60. The deadline for ordering is April 24.

Trial sermon

Freedom Ministries Church, Inc. cordially invites you to the trial sermon for Michael A. Williams on Sunday, March 28th at 3:30 p.m.. The program will be held at the Lincoln Center. Franklin Jones is pastor and Kathy Jones is co-pastor.

Dance at Post 194

American Legion Post 194 will host a dance Sat., March 27, 9 p.m. - 1 a.m. Entertainment will be provided by New Town Rhythm Band playing Southern rock, country covers plus original material. For more information contact 706-359-3445.

Lions Club meeting

Passion Play

First Assembly of God will present a Passion Play on Saturday, March 27 and Sunday March 28 at 6:00 pm. This is an annual Easter celebration of music and drama depicting the life of Christ. A nursery will be provided. First Assembly is located on the Thomson Highway. Call the church office at 359-7237 for more information.

Sunrise service

The Lincoln County Sunday School Union will sponsor its Annual Easter Sunrise Service on Sunday, April 4 at 7a.m. First Baptist Church will host this years’ service. All are invited to attend, come and be blessed! Rev. Dennis J. Quinn-Pastor.

FOL to meet

Friends of the Library will meet Thursday, March 25 at 4:30 p.m. at the library. Plans will be made for the spring book sale. Anyone interested in promoting and supporting the library is invited to attend.

Cookbooks available

First Assembly of God has published a cookbook of local recipes that are on sale now at a cost of $12.00 each. All proceeds go to Speed the Light Missions. They can be purchased at the church office from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Monday thru Friday or call 706-359-7237. They are also available at Crawford and Breazeale Drug Store.

Gospel fundraiser

Newberry Baptist Church will host its Second Annual Silver Lining Foundation Gospel fundraiser with gospel music, inspiration, and dedication on Sat., March 20 3 - 5 p.m.

The Silver Lining Foundation is continuing to strive to support both patients and family members who are fighting cancer. Your past support is greatly appreciated and your future support is greatly needed.

Catfish plate sale

St. Paul Methodist Church will be selling catfish plates Sat., March 26, dine-in or carry-out, no walk-ins please. Plates cost $8 for adults, $4 for children 10 years and under and will consist of catfish with drink and desert (drink not included with carryout plates.) Graduation test

The Georgia High School Graduation Test will be given the week of March 29 - April 2 according to the following schedule: Mon., March 29 - language arts; Tues., March 30 - math; Wed., March 31 - science; Thurs., April 1 - social studies.

All tests will be given at 8:15 a.m. each morning.

CCLC to meet

The Concerned Citizens of Lincoln County will meet Thurs., March 18, 6:30 p.m. at the Lincoln County Library. Guest speaker will be Wade Johnson, Chairman Lincoln County Board of Commissioners. Topic will be “What’s going on in the county.” Everyone is welcome. Come be a part of the CCLC.

Softball tourney

100 men, women

Pleasant Grove C.M.E. Church invites the public to its “100 Men in Black - 100 Women in White” program to be held Sun., March 21 at 2 p.m. Rev. Ray Lewis and Tabernacle Baptist Church will be in charge. Rev. Walter Clayton is pastor.

Clothes giveaway

The Tribe of Judah Dance Ministry of New Tabernacle Baptist Church will host a Second Sow-A-Seed Clothes Giveaway March 20, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. at the Lincolnton Club House. Pastor is Matthew Harden.

Play at HHS

Little Shop of Horrors will be performed at Harlem High School April 28 - May 1 in the high school theatre at 7 p.m. nightly and also at 3 p.m. on May 1st. For tickets call the high school at 706-556-5980.

Party Time Band to perform at 597

The American Legion Post 597 presents “The Party Time Band” Fri., April 2 from 10 p.m. - 1 a.m. The band, along with vocalists, will play and sing music you grew up with. DJ Vontrae will provide music during intermission.

Barnes to stop by

Former governor, Roy Barnes will be making a brief stop in Lincolnton March 27 around 1:30 p.m. at the Friendship Fountain across from the courthouse. Roy Barnes is a candidate for the gubernatorial race in Georgia. The public is invited to come

out and meet Mr. Barnes.

Men and Women’s Day

Pleasant Grove C.M.E. Church, 2245 Augusta Hwy., Lincolnton, will have its annual Men and Women’s Day Program April 11 at 2 p.m. Speaker will be Rev. Dr. Paul Gardner of Williams Memorial C.M.E. Church of Augusta. The public is invited. Rev. Dr. Walter E. Clay is pastor.

Solomon Pool Deliverance Ministries will have a youth revival March 17 - 19 beginning at 7:30 p.m. nightly. Bingo at Post 194

Play Bingo at American Legion Post 194 on Fridays at 7:30 p.m. Enjoy a variety of goodies at the Snack Bar operated by the Ladies Auxiliary during Bingo. Special Bingo games are also played. Come out and see if you are lucky enough to win the Jackpot. Bring a friend and enjoy the fun.

Interpreted sermons

First Assembly of God has begun a new ministry to reach the hispanic community with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The sermons are now interpreted via a microphone/ earphone system. Those who do not understand English wear earphones and the service is translated by Ms. Isabel Garrett. Anyone who knows of someone who might benefit from this ministry is asked to call the church office at 706-359-7237.

St. Patrick’s Day dance

The Ladies Auxiliary of American Legion Post 597 will host a St. Patrick’s Day Dance Sat., March 20 beginning at 9 p.m. The music will be provided by D.J. Vontrae’. An admission fee will be charged at the door. Attire is casual and if possible, everyone is asked to wear something green. Light refreshments will be served.
