Mrs. Irene Bailey, 83, of Knob Hill Farm Road, formerly of White Rock Road, died Friday, March 5, 2010 at Wills Memorial Hospital.

Funeral services were held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, March 7, at Salem Baptist Church with Dr. G. Al Wright and Rev. Deryl Odom officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Bailey was a lifelong resident of Lincoln County and a member of the Salem Baptist Church where she was formerly active in the Doris Cox Circle of the WMU and the adult choir. She also attended Smyrna United Methodist Church. She was retired from Royal Manufacturing Company.

Mrs. Bailey was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Quincy W. Bailey, two brothers, Lester Bentley and Johnny Bentley, and a sister, Mary Jo Ferguson.

She is survived by a brother, William Bentley and wife, Lee of Lincolnton along with a number of nieces and nephews.
