Televised announcements at LCMS
2010-03-11 / News
For the first time ever, morning announcements are being televised at
LCMS. Since February was “Black History Month,” a segment of the
daily broadcast as well as Power Point presentations shown during lunch
included brief descriptions of the lives and contributions of prominent
black Americans such as Douglas Wilder, the first elected governor in
United States history; Benjamin Banneker, who built one of the first
watches made in America – a wooden pocket watch; educator Mary
McLeod Bethune; and the Tuskegee Airmen, the only fighter group
that never lost a bomber to the enemy. Pictured in the broadcast booth
are Colbi Murray (l) and Erin Thornton.
