Old-fashioned revival to be held at Lewis Family Pavilion

An old-fashioned revival will be held Friday, March 12, and Saturday, March 13, at the Lewis Family Pavilion in the Lincoln County Historical Park.

Services are set to begin at 6 p.m. on Friday and at 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Saturday.

The event will feature evangelists Harold Leake from Greenville, South Carolina, and Brian DelGrande, a former church planter in South Africa.

Rev. Leake has been in the ministry for more than 61 years, preaching at tent meetings, jails, rest homes, and churches. He also works with orphaned children and is affiliated with a rescue mission and a satellite mission church.

In addition to preaching, Leake is a talented songwriter. His most notable work is “Excuses, Excuses,” a song that held the number-one spot on the National Gospel Song Chart for 12 months.

He and his wife, Brenda, will be providing special music for the revival.

As for Rev. DelGrande, he travels all over the country spreading the Word of God with his wife, LeeAnn, and children Uriah, Gracie, and Samuel.

To date, DelGrande has written four commentaries and is believed to one of the greatest preachers on conducting spiritual warfare of our time.

Participants are encouraged to bring a Bible, a lawn chair, and even a blanket or two to the old-time camp meeting.

In addition to old-fashioned preaching, the revival promises soul-stirring hymns, heavenly music, and “some of the finest fellowship under the stars.”

The services are being sponsored by Blessed Hope Ministries, a group of believers who have been meeting for Bible study on Wednesday nights for more than two years here in Lincoln.

The goal of ministry it to assist people in living an abundant life by obtaining a closer personal relationship with God through His written word.
