The John de la Howe Alumni Association will host its 13th Annual Open Bass Tournament on Saturday, April 17th at the Hawe Creek Landing, Dorn Sports Fishing/Boating Facility on Lake Strom Thurmond located in McCormick, S.C. A $1,500 first place prize is offered for the winning team and participants have the option of entering into the $10.00 “Big Fish Pot” that pays two places.

Pre-registration entry fee for the two-man team is $65.00; boats will be released into the water in the order that their registration is received. Pre-registration entries must be postmarked no later than April 13th. Teams can register at the landing, the morning of the tournament for a fee of $75.00.

All boats must be in the water by 6:00 a.m.; Ooze-off is scheduled for 6:30 a.m. the morning of the tournament. Weigh-in is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.

This annual event is sponsored by the John de la Howe School Alumni Association and all proceeds are used to benefit the children in care at John de la Howe School, South Carolina’s Home for Children, located in Mc- Cormick, S.C.
