WILLIAM P. REID
A memorial service for William P. Reid will be held on Saturday March 6, 2010. The services will be held at Pleasant Grove CME Church located in Lincolnton, Ga. at 1:00 p.m. Reverend Dr. Walter E. Clayton will be officiating.
William was born in Lincolnton, Ga. to the late Alton and Catherine Reid. He was a career military man, having retired in 1996 after serving 25 years in the military service and 14 years in civilian service with the United States Marines, Army and Air Force. While serving in the military he was highly decorated having received the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star during the Vietnam War.
William resided in Augusta, Ga. until 2005, when due to illness, he moved to San Antonio, Texas with his son. He was affectionately and often referred to as “Sonny” or “Bill” by those who knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his sister Corine Leverett Reid.
Survivors include his son, Kenneth P. Reid of San Antonio, Texas; and his daughter, Kimberly M. Reid of Chicago, Ill. 3 4 1tp
