Mrs. Maudelle Dawkins Varner, formerly of Goshen St., died Thursday, February 25, 2010 at University Hospital, Augusta.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 28, 2010 at Goshen Baptist Church with Rev. Robert D. Adams officiating.

Interment followed in the church cemetery.

Mrs. Varner, daughter of the late Floyd H. and Ida Mae Wright Dawkins, was a lifelong resident of Lincoln County. She was a homemaker and the oldest living member of Goshen Baptist Church where she had been a member of the choir.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Varner, and brothers and sisters, F.H. Dawkins, Harold Dawkins, Horace Dawkins, Lois Glaze, Bessie Clement, and Audrey Holloway.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Kathy Varner of Martinez; sister, Rachel Anderson of Rome, Ga.; grandchildren, Tiffany Rosier and husband, Kevin, Brandt Varner and wife, Amanda, Blake Varner and wife, Angela; great-grandchildren, Jackson Rosier, Luke Rosier, Reece Rosier, Cathryn Joy Varner, and Dawkins Varner
