Activities planned at the MACK
Lincolnton’s Laney Aycock, entertained the participants at the MACK’s Read and Feed on Tuesday, February 25. Everyone enjoyed listening to her play.
Laney, daughter of Ronald and Lisa Aycock, has studied piano with Mrs. Jean Gale for three years. She is a sixth grade student in Lincoln County Middle School.
In addition to playing the piano in special programs at her church, First Assembly of God, Laney also performs vocal selections there with family members. She is a very talented young lady who is also active in sports, softball, basketball, football, soccer and golf.
The Monster Yard Sale to benefit the MACK is almost here!! Mark your calendar for Saturday, March 13, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the MACK.
You still have time to donate anything you may want to part with. We welcome anything from clothing and small household items to larger pieces of furniture, appliances and electronics. Your donations are tax deductible, and we will give you tax receipts for that purpose. Items may be dropped off at the MACK anytime, Monday - Friday between 10 and 4.
Have you been thinking about replacing a chair or couch or some other piece of furniture? What better time than now! Give Eileen Cicora a call at 864-391-5334 and she will make arrangements to have it picked up. The yard sale will be behind the MACK on Saturday, March 13. Come look for that very special “treasure” among the items at this “Monster Yard Sale!”
Bill Updegraff will be instructing watercolor classes beginning March 3, 2010. His classes will be held every Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. for eight weeks. The cost of Mr. Updegraff’s eight-session class is $135. Bill is an outstanding artist who has been recognized and all levels in numerous competitions. He welcomes students to work in the medium of their choice but the emphasis of the class is on watercolor. You will love painting with Bill! Call the MACK at 864-852-3216 to sign up.
Helen Hudson’s Basic Art Class begins Friday, March 12. This class will be held every Friday from 10:00 – 1:00 through April 16. Helen’s class is great for anyone wanting to improve their drawing skill. It will prepare you for other art classes you may wish to take in the future. She is a fantastic. The Artist Reception at the MACK on March 5 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. will mark the beginning of the Sixth Annual Youth Art Exhibit. Their art will remain on exhibit for the month of March in the MACK Galleries. The

We have a need for available ladies and gents to fill our ballroom dance lessons! Barbara Hinkel is more than happy to educate you in the wonderful world of ballroom.
We are asking to fill a ten person maximum (5 ladies, 5 gents). A smaller group allows for individual instruction and proper partner rotation.
Join us for fun in a friendly yet supportive environment. Foxtrot, Swing, Waltz and Cha-Cha. Classes will be held every Monday and Wednesday from March 15 through April 7 from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. The cost of this dance class is $80 per individual or $150 per couple. Call the MACK to sign up.
The Taste of McCormick at the MACK dinner will be Tuesday, March 30. There will be two seatings for this event – 5:30 and 7:30 p.m. This is a four course meal with all recipes being taken from the Taste of the Arts in McCormick County cookbook. This is always a popular event so mark your calendars now. Call the MACK at 852- 3216 or stop in to purchase your tickets for this wonderful dinner.
Clint Scott will begin his next art class on Tuesday, April 6. His classes are held every Tuesday and Thursday for four weeks. They are from 1:00 – 3:30 p.m. His classes fill up very rapidly so call the MACK at 852- 3216 today to sign up if you are interested. The eight-session class costs $108.
April 16 the MACK is featuring a “Spring Fling” dance in the park from 6:00 – 10:00 p.m. It will be an evening of fun, music and dancing under the stars. What an opportunity to practice all of those dance steps will have learned from your dance lessons you will have had the opportunity to take!
Jean Gale teaches piano lessons at the MACK on Tuesdays. Call the MACK to schedule an appointment with the instructor. The class fee is $60 per month (meeting once a week).
