Turkey shoot

The Sons of the American Legion, Squadron 194 will have a Turkey Shoot at 7:00 p.m., on Feb. 26, at the American Legion Fairgrounds. Come on out for great fun and great fellowship and great prizes. Prayer brunch

The St. Luke Baptist Church, 3130 Metasville Road, Lincolnton, Georgia, will have its Annual Women on the Move For Christ Prayer Brunch, Saturday, March 13, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. Rev. Kathy Jones and her congregation from Freedom Ministries will be the special guests.

The Virtuous Women of Praise will be in charge of musical entertainment. All women are encouraged to attend this spiritual and revitalizing service. Lunch will be served.

LWREA to meet

The Lincoln-Wilkes Retired Educators Association (LWREA) will meet at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, March 11 at the Lincoln County Public Library. All retired educators are invited to attend.

Garden club meeting

The Pine Needle Garden Club will meet at 7 p.m. on March 8 at the Lincoln County Library. It’s time for club dues and reservations for our spring luncheon in Augusta.

Master gardener, Lillie Turner will present our program. Please bring a small picture frame. Hazel Pool will furnish refreshments. New members are welcome.

Retreat rescheduled

The Lincoln County Sunday School Union’s Annual Valentines Retreat has been rescheduled for Saturday, March 6th at First Baptist Church, where Rev. Dennis Quinn is pastor.

Youth revival

Solomon Pool Deliverance Ministries will have a youth revival March 17 - 19 beginning at 7:30 p.m. nightly. Fishing Creek Baptist Church will have an all you can eat country cooking supper on Sat., March 20 from 6 - 8 p.m. Cost is $7 per plate.

Tyner to speak

Cindy Tyner, Author of the book Enemy of Darkness, will be speaking at Jones Chapel on Saturday, March 6th at 6 p.m. She will also be speaking at the 11 a.m. service and 6 p.m. service on Sunday, March 7.

Cindy died in 2006 and visited heaven before returning to her body. Come and hear her amazing testimony. She also will be ministering at the conclusion of each service. Pastor Tom Smalley and the congregation at Jones Chapel cordially invite you to come and receive a blessing from the Lord! Covered Dish Lunch following morning service.

Revival at LBC

Lincolnton Baptist Church would like to invite you to revival beginning Sunday, March 7 through Wednesday, March 10. Sunday morning service begins at 11 a.m. and the evening services will begin at 7p.m.

Our guest speakers for the week will be Sunday morning – Rev. Danny Watters, Sunday evening – Dr. Benny Pate, Monday and Tuesday - Bucky Kennedy, Wednesday – Dr. J. Robert White.

Gospel Explosion

A Gospel Explosion will be held at The Lincoln Center on April 3 at 5 p.m. with various groups from in and out of town. A drawing will be held for Easter baskets prior to the program at a cost of $2 per ticket. See the Blackmon and Wynn families for tickets. Prizes will be given at the program.

Bingo at Post 194

Play Bingo at American Legion Post 194 on Fridays at 7:30 p.m. Enjoy a variety of goodies at the Snack Bar operated by the Ladies Auxiliary during Bingo. Special Bingo games are also played. Come out and see if you are lucky enough to win the Jackpot. Bring a friend and enjoy the fun.

Pastor anniversary

The Ladies Auxiliary of American Legion Post 597 will host a St. Patrick’s Day Dance Sat., March 20 beginning at 9 p.m. The music will be provided by D.J. Vontrae’. An admission fee will be charged at the door. Attire is casual and if possible, everyone is asked to wear something green. Light refreshments will be served.

Harmony Baptist Church will be celebrating its “136th Church Anniversary” at 3:00 p.m., on Sunday, March 7, 2010.

Interpreted sermons

First Assembly of God has begun a new ministry to reach the hispanic community with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The sermons are now interpreted via a microphone/ earphone system. Those who do not understand English wear earphones and the service is translated by Ms. Isabel Garrett. SAL to meet

The Sons of the American Legion will have their monthly meeting on March 9, 7 p.m. at the post home. All members need to attend and bring your dues if you haven’t paid. Membership is needed.
