The LCHS chapter of SkillsUSA, a trade and industrial organization, made a great showing at the Region 6 competition held at the Ogeechee Technical College in Statesboro. Eighteen schools and 270 students took part in the event. The local winners were: (l-r) Dakota Turner, first place, Auto Service Technology; Kristen Freeman, third place, Prepared Speech; and Alex Garcia, first place, Power Equipment Technology. Turner and Garcia will go on to compete at the state level on March 11. Marion Aycock serves as the club’s advisor.
