Kenneth Dewitt Cullars

Kenneth Dewitt Cullars, 75, of Tallassee, Ala. entered into rest November 4, 2009.

Funeral services were held Saturday, November 7 at Macedonia Christian Church with Rev. David Hooks officiating. Internment followed in the church cemetery.

Mr. Cullars was the son of the late Earnest Dewitt and Clara Horn Cullars. He was the grandson of John Hull and Drucilla Cannon Cullars; the great-grandson of William H. and Americas Crowell Cullars; the greatgreat grandson of Elijah and Elizabeth York Cullars; and the great-greatgreat grandson of Matthew Cullars, Sr., the patriarch of the Cullars family and a Revolutionary War veteran who came to what is now Lincoln County, Georgia from Virginia shortly after the war.

Kenneth, his wife and a number of his children visited Lincolnton on a number of occasions and enjoyed visiting the library, his relatives and the old cemeteries in Lincoln and Wilkes Counties that had Cullars family members in them. They were escorted to these cemeteries by his cousin, John Cullars McCrimmon of Lincolnton.

Survivors include is wife, Margie Cullars; his sons, Kenneth Alan (Julia Ann) Cullars, Mark Dewitt Cullars, Matt (Susan) Reynolds and David Webster; his daughters, Debra (Bruce) Schrator and Kathy (Troy) Ledbetter; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; his brothers, Patrick (Mable) Cullars and John (Margaret) Cullars; and is sister, Deanna Willis.
