Turkey shoot
The Sons of the American Legion, Squadron 194 will have a Turkey Shoot at 7:00 p.m., on Feb. 26, at the American Legion Fairgrounds. Come on out for great fun and great fellowship and great prizes. Calendar fund-raiser
We are now selling a 2010 calendar to raise money for cancer patients in our area. The calendars are $12.00 each. You can pick up one from any officer or board member. Also, Darran has them at Ed Sive Tire & Battery in Elberton. Pictures from our events are on the page with each month.
CCLC to meet
The Concerned Citizens of Lincoln County will meet Thurs., Feb. 18, 6:30 p.m. at the Lincoln County Library. Guest speaker will be Ashley R. Banks, executive director of Lincoln County Development Authority. Everyone is welcome to come and be a part of the CCLC.
Sing & Sip
Anthony Chapel will be hosting a “Sing & Sip” at 7 p.m., Saturday, February 27.
Featured talent includes: Bill Maxwell from Beaverdam Baptist; Trudy Ingram Matthews from Hephzibah Baptist, Karen Lewis Saggus from Tignall Baptist; Lincolnton U.M. Praise Bank, Lincolnton U.M. Church; Hilda Cliatt, from Salem Baptist and the Anthony Chapel Ensemble..
This promises to be an evening of gospel music you’ll remember always.
Mouth watering treats will follow the perofrmance. Everyone is invited.
Prayer brunch
The St. Luke Baptist Church, 3130 Metasville Road, Lincolnton, Georgia, will have its Annual Women on the Move For Christ Prayer Brunch, Saturday, March 13, 2010 at 10:30 a.m. Rev. Kathy Jones and her congregation from Freedom Ministries will be the special guests.
The Virtuous Women of Praise will be in charge of musical entertainment. All women are encouraged to attend this spiritual and revitalizing service. Lunch will be served.

Gospel Explosion
A Gospel Explosion will be held at The Lincoln Center on April 3 at 5 p.m. with various groups from in and out of town. A drawing will be held for Easter baskets prior to the program at a cost of $2 per ticket. See the Blackmon and Wynn families for tickets. Prizes will be given at the program.
Retreat rescheduled
The Lincoln County Sunday School Union’s Annual Valentines Retreat has been rescheduled for Saturday, March 6th at First Baptist Church, where Rev. Dennis Quinn is pastor.

Yard sale March 6
Martin’s Crossroads Church at Hwy. 220 and Double Branches will have a yard sale Sat., March 6 from 8 a.m. - 3 p.m. Everyone is invited to come out and shop. They will have lots of good things.

Bingo at Post 194
Play Bingo at American Legion Post 194 on Fridays at 7:30 p.m. Enjoy a variety of goodies at the Snack Bar operated by the Ladies Auxiliary during Bingo. Special Bingo games are also played. Come out and see if you are lucky enough to win the Jackpot. Bring a friend and enjoy the fun.
Bridge games
Duplicate bridge games will be held weekly at two area locations. The first is at Hickory Knob State Park restaurant every Monday. The restaurant is open immediately before and immediately after the game that begins at 1:30 Monday afternoon.
The other game is held on most Thursdays at the Savannah Lakes Village Activity Center in McCormick at 6:30 pm. Both games are open to all interested players at all skill levels.
Although it is best to bring your own partner, we will always try to find you a partner. The Monday game is sanctioned by the ACBL, and master points are awarded. Players are not required, however, to be members of the ACBL.

Lincolnton United Methodist Church will hold its Spring/Summer Kids Consignment Sale for the public Thurs., Feb. 25, 6 - 8 p.m.; Fri., Feb. 26, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.; and Sat., Feb. 27, 8 a.m. - 12 p.m. with select items 50% off.
