Albert Truett Smalley

Mr. Albert Truett Smalley, 75, of Leathersville Rd. entered into rest on Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at his residence.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m., Saturday, February 6, at Salem Baptist Church with Rev. Paul Reviere, Rev. Allen Danner and Rev. Tom Smalley officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.

Mr. Smalley was the son of the late Benjamin Eugene Smalley and Lois Cliatt Smalley. He was a retired textile worker and a member of Salem Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Dollie Ellenberg Smalley; one son, Kenneth Smalley and wife, Faye of Lincolnton; two daughters, Jan Whitener and husband, Kerry and Judy Webb, both of Lincolnton; sister, Martha Jean Grimaud and husband, George of Tignall; eight grandchildren, Carla Young, Charles Dornberg, Mandy Rogers, David Whitener, Ken Smalley, Pam Smalley, Andy Smalley and Judie Whitener; 17 great-grandchildren and a devoted caregiver, Frankie Andrews of Washington, Ga.

Mr. Smalley was preceded in death by a daughter, Katherine Smalley and a sister, Miriam Smalley.

Serving as pallbearers were Pete Grimaud, Truitt Dill, Dudley Bryant, Jeff Carroll, David Young and Melvin Burgess.

Serving as honorary pallbearers were the deacons of Salem Baptist Church.
