Choir anniversary
First Baptist Church Young Adult Choir will be celebrating iits 16th choir anniversary on Sunday, February 14 at 3 p.m. The pubic is invited.
Calendar fund-raiser
We are now selling a 2010 calendar to raise money for cancer patients in our area. The calendars are $12.00 each. You can pick up one from any officer or board member. Also, Darran has them at Ed Sive Tire & Battery in Elberton. Pictures from our events are on the page with each month.
FOL to meet
FOL will meet at 4:30 p.m., on Thursday, January 28, at the library. Anyone interested in promoting and supporting the library is invited to attend. This will be a planning meeting for winter and spring projects.
Prog. at Pleasant Grove
The C.Y.F. of Pleasant Grove C.M.E. Church will be sponsoring a program at 11:00 a.m., Sunday, January 31.
Mrs. Joyce Bussey from Antioch C.M.E. Church will be the guest speaker. Everyone is invited to attend. Rev. Walter Clayton is pastor.
Getting acquainted meeting
The Faith for Living Ministries will hold a getting acquainted meeting on Thursday, February 4, from 6-9 p.m. at The Lincoln Center.
The purpose of the outreach ministry is to prepare youth for the job market and instill in them the values needed to be an asset to the community.

Healing explosion
A Healing Explosion with Dr. Sandra G. Kennedy, Senior Pastor of Whole Life MInistiries, Augusta, will be held at 6 p.m., Sunday, January 24 at Washington Church of God, 1365 Tignall Rd.
Let healing explode in you through the teaching of the Word. The admission is free and the dress is gradual.
Fifth Sunday singing
New Work Baptist Church and Loco Baptist Church will be holding a joint Fifth Sunday Night Singing at 6:00 p.m., Sunday, January 31 at New Work Baptist Church.

Men’s program
St. Luke Baptist Church will have a men’s fellowship program at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 20. for all men, young men and boys. Rev. F. D. Favors and the Springfield Baptist Church of Thomson, Georgia will be in charge of the service. There will be a fish fry after the program. Rev. Alvin Rivers is pastor.
Interpreted sermons
First Assembly of God has begun a new ministry to reach the hispanic community with the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The sermons are now interpreted via a microphone/ earphone system. Those who do not understand English wear earphones and the service is translated by Ms. Isabel Garrett. Anyone who knows of someone who might benefit from this ministry is asked to call the church office at 706-359-7237.
Third anniversary
The Deacons and Trustees of Ebenezer Baptist Church invites the public to its third anniversary celebration at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 14. Rev. Melvin Adams and New Holt Baptist church will be the guests. Rev. Fred Perriman is pastosr.
Sweetheart Ball
The Ladies Auxiliary of Thomas- Lane American Legion, Post 597 will sponsor a Sweetheart Ball on Saturday, February 13 at the post located on Thomas-Lane Post Road in Lincolnton.

Angels for sale
The Relay for Life Courthouse Crew has concrete angels for sale to raise money to fight cancer. These make excellent presents and can also be used to remember an angel in your life who lost the battle with cancer.
Another good idea is to give them to a cancer survivor to remind them they indeed have a guardian angel. Come to the Tax Commissioners Office to get them while the supply lasts.

Dinner served
Dinner served at American Legion Post 194 every Wed. night at 6:30 p.m. and Fri. at 7 p.m. Wednesday’s menu changes weekly. Every Friday is steak night. A large variety salad bar, shrimp cocktail, baked potato, bread, dessert and ice tea are included with steak. Come out and join us for a delicious meal.

Rev. Roscoe Perry, pastor of First Mount Carmel Baptist Church of Winfield, Ga. will be in charge of the service.
Black History Gala
First Baptist Church will hold its Black History Gala celebration in honor of our first black mayor, Henry Brown at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 21.
Mayor Burns will be our guest speaker. A very inspiring celebration is planned and everyone is invited to attend.
Mid-week service
The First Baptist Church will be having mid-week services at 7:00 p.m.... Tuesday, Feb. 2 with Minister Cullars bringing the message. The public is invited.
Breakfast buffet
Faith Communtiy Church/Faith Temple will have its monthly breakfast buffet from 7 a.m. until 10 a.m. on Saturday, February 6.
Diabetes workshop
A diabetes workshop will be held at the Sunday School Union which will convene at White Rock Baptist Church on Saturday evening, January 30.
The workshop will be presented by Mrs. Kathy Linebarger, family nurse practitioner and county nurse manager for the McDuffie county Health Department.
Kathy, who is originally from Tennessee, has lived in the Augusta area for several years. She is employed by the McDuffie Health Department for 14 years and serves as a volunteer with the McDuffie Diabetes Support Group, McDuffie Regional Hospital.
In addition, Mrs. Regenia Reid will present a workshop for the youth.
Everyone is invited.
Democrats to meet
The Lincoln County Democratic Party will meet at the LIncoln County Public Library on Monday evening, Feb. 1.

Society meeting
The Lincoln County Historical Society will hold its February meeting and luncheon at noon on February 3 at the Lincoln County Historical Park. Agenda items will include the Tenant House and discussion of initiatives for grant applications. New members are always welcome, interested folks should come and join us for lunch! Cookbooks are still available, get one before we sell out!

Solomon Pool Deliverance Ministries will be hosting an evening of songs at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 30. The Anointed Brother from Augusta, Georgia will be the guest group. There will also be different groups from Lincolnton and Washington performing. The public is invited to attend.
