Ivie Aycock captures Grand Champion %Simmental Heifer award at UGA's Heifer between the Hedges and Jackpot Livestock Shows.

Lincoln Co. 4-H'er Miss Ivie S. Aycock traveled to Athens, Ga. to participate in the University of Georgia's Block and Bridle & Livestock Judging Team Heifer between the Hedges and Jackpot livestock shows on December 5-6, 2009.

These two shows were attended by North Ga. 4-H and FFA members. Both shows had total of 133 and 108 entries from across the state.

Miss Ivie captured the coveted Grand Champion % Simmental award in both shows. She received two first place ribbons in class and fourth overall high heifer award for the entire Jackpot show.

As for Showmanship competition Ivie won second place in the eighth grade class.

This years heifer show competition was really tight but Miss Ivie brought home the top award in her breed division. In addition, this year's Jackpot show judge was the legendary Mr. Jary Douglass who is one of the most sought after livestock judges in the U.S. Ivie and her % Simmental heifer commanded Mr. Jary Douglass's attention and that is a testament to the hard work Miss Ivie and her heifer have put in. The Heifer between the Hedges heifer show judge was Mr. Jason Segars, UGA.
