Chamber announces winners of annual Christmas parade
The Lincoln County 4-H Club's float captured first-place honors in the Traditional Category at the Lincolnton Christmas Parade held Saturday, December 5. The parade is sponsored annually by the Lincolnton Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce. Chamber announces winners The weather was clear, chilly, and brisk for the crowd that turned out for the 2009 Lincolnton Christmas Parade held Saturday, December 5.
The parade is sponsored annually by the Lincolnton-Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce in conjunction with the Holidays in Olde Lincoln Towne Festival.
The winners in the various parade categories were as follows:
Traditional Floats - The Lincoln County 4-H Club, first place; the Lincoln County Historical Society, second place; and Lincoln County Cub Scout Pack 203, third place.
Novelty Floats - The LCHS Career, Technical, and Agricultural Education (CTAE) Department, first place; American Legion Post 194, second place; and the LCMS Student Council, third place.
Religious Floats - Parks Grove Holiness Church, first place; Newberry Baptist Church, second place; and New Life Church, third place.
LCHS CTAE DEPARTMENT First Place — Novelty Floats Golf Carts - Tabernacle Baptist Church, first place, and the Lincoln County Concerned Citizens, second place.
Classic Cars - The Ace Dolls, first place; Joe Guillebeau, second place; and Edgar Merrow, third place.
The winning entries were awarded "LincolnCHECKS," which can be redeemed at any participating chamber business.
The parade was expertly coordinated for the chamber by Melissa Burgess.
In her comments, Burgess thanked everyone who played a part in making Holidays in Olde Lincoln Towne a success. "Countless hours go into planning this event, and without the help of our sponsors, local businesses, law enforcement and government officials, and most importantly, our volunteers, this day would not have been possible."
