SSgt Lisa Safrit keeps a copy of The Lincoln Journal handy during her deployment to Kirkuk Regional Air Base, Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. SSgt Safrit has been serving in the Air Force for 10 years and is deployed with the 315th Security Forces Squadron from Charleston Air Force Base, SC. She is married to Chad Safrit of Washington and they have four children, Hunter, Ivy, Wyatt and Oakley. She is the daughter of Shirley Burgess and the late Robert Burgess of Lincolnton.
