Hometown Christmas in Warrenton
Join us for our 8th Annual Hometown Christmas on December 3rd from 5:00-9:00pm in downtown Warrenton, Georgia. Step back in time and enjoy the hustle and bustle of Christmas as they did many years ago. The following times listed display what will be going on:
.. 5:00pm: The Warrenton Garden Club will present the annual Tree- Lighting Service in front of our historic courthouse. Musical guests and the reading of the names of loved ones who are being honored or memorialized will highlight the service. Immediately following the service, the Garden Club will be serving hot grits, with or without cheese, and drinks in the Mason's Building, across the street from the courthouse. Look for notices in The Warrenton Clipper on making donations or speak with a Garden Club member.
5:30pm: The Cultural Heritage Museum at the Depot Welcome Center will be hosting an Open House. On the walls of the museum will be a display of pictures, fifty years or older, from county residents. You may find yourself among the many photographs from school pictures to church festivities. Come by and see who you can find among the vast display and tour the new Welcome Center and Chamber of Commerce offices.
.. 6:00pm: Santa will arrive by carriage. He will be greeting children and be available for pictures from 6:00- 8:00pm at The Station on Main Street. A photographer will be on hand for those without cameras.
.. 6:00pm until: The Live Nativity will take place on the grounds of the First United Methodist Church. Various church groups may participate in this portion of Hometown Christmas, placing Jesus Christ in the forefront of the celebration. If you or your church group would like to participate, please call Cindy Rivers at 706.465.9604. The group can be five or more children, adults or a combination of both.
