Historical society to present Tree of Remembrance 2009
The Lincoln County Historical Society is honored to sponsor the Tree of Remembrance for 2009. The lighting of the tree will take place on December 5th during the Holidays in Olde Lincoln Towne Festival and will remain lit throughout the Christmas Season. The tree, located at the intersection of Peachtree and Main Streets, has special meaning this year.
Commercial Insurance Services and Ingram Family Landscaping have donated the trees in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Ben B. Ross and Mr. and Mrs. Talmadge Reed.
A light "In Honor" or "In Memory" of can be placed on the Remembrance Tree for $1 donation per name. Registers for the names are displayed at the following locations: Lincolnton City Hall, City Pharmacy, Crawford- Breazeale Drug Co., Farmers State Bank, Farmers and Merchant Bank, Goldman and Wengrow and Jericho Florist. In addition, registers will be available on November 21st at Pioneer Days at the Historical Park. Also, requests can be mailed to Mrs. Laura Spratlin, P. O. Box 463, Lincolnton, Georgia 30817. Names will be listed in the Lincoln Journal each week.
The members of the Lincoln County Historical Society extend a heartfelt "Thank you" for your participation and support of the Tree of Remembrance for 2009. This is a wonderful way of publicly honoring, remembering or thanking a special loved one, family member, teacher or mentor. All donations will be used for the maintenance and preservation of the Historical Park.
