To get into the true spirit of the holiday season, area churches will join together in worship at the annual Community Thanksgiving Service set for Sunday, November 22, at 7 p.m. at Lincolnton Baptist Church.

The event is being sponsored by the Lincoln County Ministerial Association.

Rev. James James, pastor of Martin's Crossroads Congregational Holiness Church, will bring the message, with special music provided by vocalist Karen James; a choir comprised of local children, under the director of Shannon Cox; and an adult community choir, led by Renee Hall, minister of music at Lincolnton Baptist.

Everyone is invited to come and sing in one of the choirs. Practice for the adult choir will be held at 5:30 p.m. in the church sanctuary the day of the worship service; whereas, the children will begin rehearsal at 6 p.m. in the fellowship hall.

The offering collected during the service will be used for charitable works in the community, including helping the needy in the county with utilities, rent, lodging, and food.

In addition to the love offering, the ministerial association will likewise be collecting canned food for the Lincoln County Food Pantry.

All members of the community are encouraged to attend this special worship service to thank God, both individually and corporately, for His many blessings.

Refreshments will be served in the church fellowship hall immediately following the program.
